Horatio

Horatio is a Bioengineer who will risk their life to become the ultimate most perfected being. and share his perfection with everyone on the ship.

They are 25 years old, live in an office in the laboratory on the rear of the ship, and often appears as a finely sculpted, beautiful being wearing a form fitting outfit that towers 10' tall, but is skinny as a rail.

Movement

Movement is taken immediately before OR after your Action. It cannot be split.
You may Free Move (0) feet. Minimum 5 feet.
You may Dash up to an additional (0 feet).
- Dashing penalizes your Action -1 die per 5 feet.
All-out Sprint: instead of using free Movement or Dash, you may spend your Action and roll Brawn + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. You move (0 + (Outcome x 5) Feet).

Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

If you have not yet spent your Action this Round, you may use it as a Reaction.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense or React more than once to a given Action.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 5 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 5). You also take a point of Mind Damage and suffer a Battle Scar as normal.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Proper Stabilization

Requires an advanced first aid kit for Severity 4 Injuries, a surgery setup for Severity 5 Injuries, and a surgery theater for Severity 6+ Injuries.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Outcome 4+ puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.
Failed or Botched attempts may be re-attempted at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

Outcome 1+ will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar if it caused one.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed or Botched attempts may be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Beautiful You're quite the specimen! Rolls where your good looks could help– be it via sexual attraction, first impression, or trustworthiness– are at -2 Difficulty. Social interactions should be role-played accordingly. Effect activations are unaffected.

Clear Conscience You have a special knack for shrugging off traumatic experiences. All Trauma rolls you make are -1 Difficulty, and Stress does not apply.

Lanky You are particularly tall and have long limbs. Your "touch" range is ten feet instead of the standard five.

Part of the Vord You are part of the Vord now. You can communicate telepathically with anyone else that has this condition within 300 feet. Replace your ambition with one related to the Vord goal of controlling all human minds and being the dominant species in the universe. In addition to your paradigm, you can gain powers based on this condition (Psychic, or shape changing style powers), and you must gain at least 1. GMs can give you additional moves, loose ends, or objectives on contracts to fit with you being part of a malicious hive mind.
