Crafted Artifact

Vel's Tissue Regenerator

Created by Dr. Theodore "Laz" Lazcowicz, given to Vel.
A smartwatch with an inscription etched on the bottom plate of the watch. "Try not to lose this one. -L"

This device now possesses a "Tissue reconstruction" application which will pair with a Bluetooth enabled device and implant a control subroutine while physically dispensing a nanite "goo" onto the target area of the subject. This goo quickly permeates damaged tissues and replicates to replace whatever critical structures are damaged, then begins the slow work of regrowing permanent native tissue in its place. From this point, if communication with the controller is lost before this month-long process completes, the nanites will shut down and lose cohesion, resulting in the failure of the repair. (If this artifact is a Bluetooth enabled device, it may serve the controller function if the user heals their own scar)

Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a Living target within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless The target possesses some form of Bluetooth enabled device to program as a nanite controller. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.

The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect. If used on a Battle Scar caused by an Unstabilized Injury, that Injury is Stabilized.

Your patient is required to remain within bluetooth range (30ft) of the selected control device, and keep it charged and operational for the next month. If they violate this rule, your treatment is immediately reversed.

  • The patient is aware of the after-care requirement.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Community Artifacts

Aerotitan

Created and held by Arthur Gilder.
He is a creature from beyond our reality. Existing in multiple spatial dimensions at the same time. He is a massive creature fitted with a harness to carry structures on his ventral and dorsal surfaces.

The airbeast of solitude is the mad scientist's lair and preferred mode of travel. Not only does it include a full science laboratory, it can be collapsed into an incredibly small hide cube and easily transported. The mad scientist may pilot the beast alone or rely on its autopilot features for ultimate convenience.

This Artifact can be used as a blimp. It is roughly the same size as a blimp but can be collapsed into a phone-sized hide cube and concealed. Collapsing or expanding it costs a Quick Action.

This blimp has full sized armory, bullet-proof envelope, and ample parachutes. Any roll to pilot this vehicle receives +2 dice.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Crew of One: You alone may stand in for an entire crew if the vehicle would normally be piloted by more than one.
  • Drive-By: You may drive or pilot your vehicle as a Free Action, without taking any penalty on other Actions.
  • Mind of its Own: This vehicle can move and take Actions without you driving it. It has seven dice for all Drive rolls.
  • No Muffler: Any stealth rolls made to hide your vehicle automatically fail, and any rolls made to notice your vehicle automatically succeed.

This item is a living thing. When targeted, it counts as a Living Creature in addition to its other target types. If destroyed or abandoned for more than two days, it dies and becomes unusable.

  • If there is not enough free space to expand the object, it cannot be expanded. You cannot expand this Object as an attack.

Virtual Armor

Created and held by Wren.
Neon Amor

Panels pull apart from her chest as she reaches in, crudely ripping something from herself. Oil spills onto the floor as she shoves thick cords back into her cavity before the panels close once more. The thick, grey disc in her hands drips oil as she chooses a target to slap it on. Once the item is placed on the target, a neon purple outline coats them in an opaque armor.

Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action. Roll Brawn + Alertness at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, you create a barrier around yourself, which absorbs the next Outcome + 2 Damage. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. This Artifact may only have 1 active barrier at a time.

The barrier will fall after two hours, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.

Elite Eyewear

Created and held by Thief (7H13F).
A pair of sunglasses designed in the shape of the Pit Viper Brand. They are solid black and function akin to ‘Google glass’ or the ‘Apple Vision Pro’ and are capable of interfacing with a nearby smartphone to match its functionalities (less efficiently).

A series of neon-green numbers and letters flood rapidly down the lenses of the sunglasses. This jumbled macro-condensed code is then simplified and ‘gameified’ for the user’s ease of access. Upon completion, the Elite Eyewear’s then provides a digital display and interface — allowing for access and manipulation of the hacked device.

Hacking is freaking hard… So why not make it easier? At the end of the day, I’m a gamer — and with this power, even the most complicated system is like putty in my hands… as long as it’s within range, anyways. Sure, it might take a minute but hacking is freaking hard, OK?? Give me a break…

Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Device within 300 feet. Does not work on Alien technology. Roll Intellect + Technology, with the Difficulty set by the GM depending on the security of the system you are hacking. Sapient targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, you may issue a single command to the targeted system. This command must have a specific outcome or be a request for specific login credentials. The command you issue must be within the machine's current capabilities. For example, you cannot order a standard security camera to grow legs and walk around.

If your command does not require bypassing the security of the target (for example, typing on a computer that is unlocked), you do not need to Exert your Mind to activate this Effect, and activation only takes a single Action.

When targeting non-computer devices, you may operate switches, buttons, dials, levers, and latches.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

The user briefly supercharges the Elite Eyewear, causing the world to take on a slight transparency through the lenses — the lenses themselves briefly lose their solid black opacity while the ability is active.

A big range is only as useful as an extensive line of sight. With this, the glasses can hack through walls, flip off or on a light switch in a neighboring room, or even access someone’s phone from inside their pocket.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action.

You may perceive things within 75 feet of you with perfect clarity as though there were no walls or obstacles blocking your view for the next 30 minutes.

You may perceive through up to 15 feet of material. The Difficulty of all Perception rolls made through a wall are increased by 1 per wall.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Reapers Gloves

Created by Gilbert Fig, given to Macie Allen.
Black leather fingerless gloves with padded palms

The user wearing the gloves can wave their hand in the air and create a slice in that path where the user moves their arms. the slash itself is invisible but can be predicted by the movement of the wearers hands

Its sukunas thing bro

Spend an Action. Select a target within 45 feet. Roll Dexterity + Brawl Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.

If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4.

The target suffers a -3 dice penalty for the next hour or until the Injury is healed. This dice penalty does not stack multiple times on the same target.

This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Paragon Suit

Created and held by Alan Hawkins.
A set of equipment belonging to the retired hero, The Paragon. Comprised of a white suit of armor, a billowing blue cape, and various crime-fighting gadgets, the whole ensemble resembles that of a classic comic book superhero. Its white, animated eyes change size and shape based on the user's expression.

The user manifests the barrier between the physical and fictional world by calling upon their personal character. The ink from the cartridges surround the user's target, which then make the target appear to be cell shaded-- with the strength of the shading depending on the strength of the barrier.

Spend an Action. Select a Animate target within arm's reach. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, you create a barrier around your target, which absorbs the next Outcome +4 Damage.

This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 1.

  • Effects which circumvent Armor completely also circumvent your barrier.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

The user holds onto their cape and channels their spirit through it, allowing them to fly through the air like many iconic superheroes. As they fly at higher speeds, motion lines and an occasional 'whoosh' may trace behind them to indicate their trajectory.

Exert your Mind (unless you are in a major metropoliton area) and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: mage ritual. You must use up a cartridge of ink in order to activate this Effect. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted. This Effect remains active for two hours.

As long as you are conscious, you are immune to falling Damage and may hover in place mid-air. Additionally, you may glide as you fall, traveling 35 feet horizontally for every 10 feet you fall. While gliding, you fall at a minimum speed of 10 feet per Round.

You may ascend into the air and fly using your mind. Your Free Movement is Mind x5 feet/Round, including vertically. You cannot Dash. When sprinting, roll Mind and add your rating in Mind plus 1 to the outcome, multiply by 5 to find your sprint speed. Your encumbrance limit is 10 lbs per point of Mind.

You are subject to the following effects while gliding or flying:

  • Earthbound: You cannot fly or glide in an atmosphere thin enough to be unbreathable.
  • Commercial Flight: This Effect is suppressed any time you are over-encumbered. However, you may carry up to 3 passengers without increasing your Encumbrance. Any passengers must maintain physical contact with you or another passenger, or they will fall.

  • Any penalties to dice or movement, including from Encumbrance, are applied as normal. If your movement is reduced to 0 due to encumbrance, you will begin to sink down to the ground.
  • You may activate this Effect while in midair, allowing you to slow and survive any free fall.

The Paragon super-suit is no ordinary set of armor. Imbued by the forces of heroism and morality themselves, the suit is capable of protecting against an additional layer of harm, as well as remaining indestructible now matter what harm falls upon it.

This Artifact cannot be broken. If this Artifact is lost and in no one else’s possession, it finds its way back to its true owner during the next Downtime.

By default, the creator of this Artifact is its true owner. The true owner may formally bequeath this Artifact onto another person within arm’s reach, after which they are its true owner. If the true owner dies or is destroyed, their ownership ends. If this Artifact has no true owner, anyone may spend one day attuning to it to become its true owner.

If this Artifact is in no one else’s possession, its true owner may Exert their Mind and spend two Actions to bring it to themselves.

  • "Cannot be broken" means that damage cannot render the Artifact's Effects unusable, nor can it cease to be used for its primary mundane purpose, if it has one.

The user can understand and be understood by any being thanks to the suit's ability to translate. As they speak, their message is transcribed through a speech bubble that appears next to them in an inky, comic book style, where their words are also dubbed over in the event they cannot be read. On their end, any messages they receive can be understood through a series of text bubbles that they can only see.

Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action. You must use up a cartridge of ink in order to activate this Effect.

You may understand and communicate to Creatures, humans, and Sapient beings as if you are fluent in a relevant language for the next hour.

This also includes understanding any recorded communications from the relevant targets, including writings, scent trails, etc.

  • Communing with creatures does not grant them intellect but does allow you to converse with them.
  • The target of "human" refers to any target that speaks a human language.
  • When reading written communications, you get no information beyond what the writer was intending to communicate.
