The creature, once imprinted with the genetic makeup of its host, is able to seamlessly replicate the look, feel, and functionality of a regular human arm, with the added ability of sprouting a jagged blade from the palm. The creature will subconsciously drive its host to consume more than the average person in order to glean some sustenance and sustain itself.
The creature requires a genetic imprint of the original limb that it is replacing, and must entirely consume the limb that it replaces. If the original limb is regained, it ceases to function, reverting to an amorphous wad of fleshy substance.
If the artifact this gift is attached to has the Sultende Klo gift as well, it may be used as the grindhouse weapon in place of a regular knife.
Disfiguring - Host
You are the host to an exceptionally ravenous creature that drives you to consume more than the average person. Every 24 hours, you must consume at least 4 pounds of meat in addition to your body's regular needs.
You gain the following benefits as long as you allow the creature to consume and replace your arm and you are wearing this Artifact.
You gain an additional limb that functions as a standard human arm and hand.
Each additional limb you posses can take one Quick Action per Round without incurring a -2 dice penalty to your main Action. Any Battle Scars that affect or remove your additional limb will heal in a single week.
Your extra appendage can be used to attack in exactly the same manner as a knife.
You may turn this Effect on and off at will during its duration.
Anyone who touches this Artifact will notice it warping their body and may drop it. If they choose to hold or use it, they immediately receive the following Battle Scar: Host. If they lose possession of this Artifact, the Battle Scar heals over the course of the next day.
Your Extra Appendage is incapable of fine object manipulation.
The rod glows with red light, and the injury being targeted glows the same color.
The one who wields it feels the power of the symbol of Asclepius compel them to move towards the compulsions of the Hippocratic oath.
If the target is dead, and the wound is treated by this, the wound is restored.
The rod is focused on the wound in question. The participant gets a deep sense of the wound, and can stitch together flesh, and restore lost blood.
This rod was made by drawing on the symbolic power of the Asclepius, and the promises and powers inherent in that symbol.
The ritual making it involves
- The symbol of the Asclepius
- The Hippocratic oath
- Several references to healing miracles
- Images of people whose lives have been saved by the wielder
The ritual leans heavily on the power, and obligations associated with the Hippocratic oath. It forces the wielder to adopt the tenants and behaviors associated with healers and doctors in the shared cultural understanding.
Do no harm.
Help all who come.
The power of this rod draws on the individual, and when reversing the pain forces the user to experience it.
Exert your Mind and spend 2 Actions. Select a Living or Dead target within arm's reach. When you Activate this Effect, roll a single d10. If the result is 5 or lower, your target receives a Minor Battle Scar. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
If your Outcome is greater than the Severity of the Injury you were attempting to treat, you may apply any excess Outcome to other Injuries on the same patient.
If you begin healing an Injury on a target that has been dead for less than a minute, and your healing reduces their Wound Level to a non-lethal level, their life is restored.
Anyone who touches this Artifact will notice it warping their body and may drop it. If they choose to hold or use it, they immediately receive the following Battle Scar: Weak Stomach: The rod draws on the vitality of the one wielding it, causing them to have strong reactions to smells.. If they lose possession of this Artifact, the Battle Scar heals over the course of the next day.
After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.
Anyone who touches this Artifact will notice it warping their mind and may drop it. If they choose to hold or use it, they immediately receive the following Trauma: Passivist: You must make a self control roll to directly attack anyone in a way which will cause harm and Committed to life: Whenever you see someone die, who you could bring back to life, you must make a self control roll to not immediately attempt to save them using this rod. This is rolled every someone dies near you. If they lose possession of this Artifact, the Trauma heals over the course of the next day.
The user draws a small piece of paper in which this artifact has been imbued onto and begins to rhythmically fold, unfold, and ultimately shape the paper into a form which resembles their surroundings. During this process, the user's mind is flooded with visions of the past, guiding their hands as they fold the paper at the risk of permanently damaging their psyche.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Crafts at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.
The Mk 6 is a rectangular object approximately 5 x 5 x 10 cm. It is a model developed by Meng Hao over multiple months of research and development. When activated and slapped on an object with the back to the object, the object will have its temporal characteristics changed. The object rapidly ages before it essentially turns to dust.
Due to its nature as a prototype, it is recommended to not be used with any object bigger than the size of a duffel bag. It is also sometimes unreliable due to its nature as well.
The Mark 6 is a innovation based off of the original XACTS Mark 1. While usage differs significantly from the original. Isolation of its effects has been put to use in multiple instances. While not working on living biological matter (believed to be due to the fact that living biological matters may be affected by quantum entanglement and to affect these matters means to be able to affect multiple versions and forms of them at the same time.) The Mark 6 works great when it comes to needing to eliminate waste or other inorganic matter such as plastic. The effects resemble natural decay/erosion. While through normal means plastic would just be grinded down to minuscule plastic bits, the mark 6 completely turns it into dust! its rather extraordinary.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a Non-Sapient Object within arm's reach no larger than a duffel bag (35 liters). Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour. Roll Intellect + Technology Difficulty 6.
If your Outcome is 4 or higher, the target will be completely destroyed and can no longer function, though it may still be repaired. If your Outcome is less than 4, the target will be partially damaged, and any attempts to use it will suffer a dice penalty equal to your Outcome.
The ring expands itself into a yawning mouth inhaling space. The edges blur into tiny voxels that maintain the opening to roughly the size of a backpack. Once the rift is stable black tendrils of nanites shoot out from the edges of the rift and connect to anything animate nearby and begin to feed off them to draw energy for the transmission. The tendrils latch onto humans and coat the flesh where they connect with inky black nanites. Blood can be seen getting pulled from limbs in order to feed the portal. Skin cracks and bubbles and then is replaced ad nauseum until the transfer is complete.
On the other end a series of voxels appear floating in the air before expanding into a ring and depositing the object or circling the nearest device with a screen, infiltrating the object and displaying the message there before disappearing.
Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action. Select a target any distance away from you. You must have a specific target in mind, but you require only an intuitive understanding of them, such as their name, face, or Location.
You may send a single message to your target. It cannot be longer or more complex than a couple short sentences. It takes at least 30 minutes before it is received.
The message will only be perceived by the intended recipient. You must share a common language for your target to understand the message.
You may send any physical Object that would fit into a backpack with your message. Such messages take one minute to arrive and always cost Exertion. Any active timers, fuses, or traps on the objects are triggered when you attempt to send them.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see Tendrils sucking energy.
When the object is placed on over an injury, and overlay of their internal damage is highlighted and begins the process of repairing. The object must be held over the wound, but it is a rather painful process to heal, causing mental stress on the user.
Expend a point of Battery and spend 15 minutes. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on yourself that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome, unless it had Severity 4 or higher, in which case its Severity remains the same.
This device is a piece of chrome the size and shape of the back of a spoon. When placed against the skin, small hypodermic needles sprout from the device and attach it to the user's bloodstream. There, it filters and releases lifesaving drugs into the bloodstream, granting complete immunity from contracting new diseases and added resiliency in all other cases.
WARNING: The immunizing drugs have been shown to reduce inhibitions in test subjects.
