The Ringmaster snaps their fingers and the sound is much louder than it should be. An area within 125 feet of her starts to glow ominously.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within 125 feet. The area within 25 feet of the chosen Location immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Roll Brawn + Alertness at Difficulty 6. Targets inside the radius may attempt an appropriate Reaction at GM’s discretion. Finding a physical barrier to use as cover will cut total Damage taken in half (applies after Reaction roll but before Armor).
If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 25 feet of the chosen Location with Damage equal to your Outcome + 4.
Damage spreads to targets beyond the edge of the initial radius, decreasing by 2 Damage for every 5 feet traveled.
Any flammable Objects within the radius during the blast will catch fire, and any being who takes at least 4 Damage will catch fire. Starting the Round after they caught fire, flaming targets take 2 Damage per Round until the fire is extinguished.
If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. For material armor, this penalty lasts until it is repaired. For intrinsic armor, it lasts until the end of Combat and any relevant wound is healed.
The armor takes a few bites of swords as it begins to turn the iron amassed through this process into materials for building. Loud crunching and growling occurs as the armour produces the multitudes of materials.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend one minute. Select a Location within arm's reach.
Select one of the following alterations to create out of Black stone originating at the target:
The alteration begins to form when you activate this Effect and finishes forming on your initiative in the next Round. Until it finishes forming, it is not guaranteed to function.
This alteration lasts indefinitely but may be prematurely destroyed or altered. Your alterations may be broken through with appropriate tools. Anyone attempting to break through must roll Brawn + a relevant Ability. A cumulative Outcome of 3 across all attempts breaks a hole large enough to move through. See the extended system text for GM guidance on various tools.
You may sculpt your walls, domes, or tunnels as you create them, without any additional activation time or cost.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see the souls of the damn coagulate and get crushed with the metal to form the large stones formed by the armour.
The user pulls out wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers and starts to disassemble the target bit by bit, the parts leaking blood. Then, the user cleans and fixes the parts with a rag and tools, and then they reassemble the target.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute to activate. Select a Living or Animate target within arm's reach. You must use up scrap metal in order to activate this Effect. Your target must make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar will heal immediately. You may specify a specific condition that the patient must adhere to. If they break this condition, the treatment is immediately reversed. Record this regimen as a Condition.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see the activator is disassembling the target and repairing their broken and bloody parts, to which they then reassemble the target..
Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind the repaired parts appear made of metal on the target which cannot be healed.
After the long and grueling road to get here, Viper finally has control over their physical mutations. Horns, claws, webs, gills, all new possibilities to allow for for utility and accessibility. With a short minute of discomfort as their body changes, they can adapt to almost any situation
Exert your Mind and spend an hour to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Battle Scar and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
Your alteration "heals" over the course of the next month, after which it is fully cured.
Hamil's tounge glistens silver as he speaks to a man in a fervant tone. He draws from the evangelising power of the passed martyrs and saints of the mendicant orders of old. The words he speaks a known to be his truth, even if they declare the sky green.
Spend one minute. Select a Living target within 45 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless you are actively conversing with the target. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6 -3 dice.
If you succeed, for the next hour, your target will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by trust. They will outwardly display their emotions in an obvious and visible way.
Actions they take may be extreme and out of character for them. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is tounge glistens sliver. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Nightmares of the Antichrist: Your sleep is plagued with horrible nightmares of the Antichrist rising. At the start of each Contract and each time you fall asleep, make a Self-Control roll. If you fail, you take one Mind Damage and Delusion that other Faiths are Invalid: You must succeed a Self-Control roll in order to not believe your delusion, even when confronted with compelling evidence, or in order to act in a way that is contrary to your delusion.
The target sees Nathan grasps one of the vibrant red threads of fate emanating from his target and, only possible with consent, severs the unbreakable connection. He pulls out another cord from the mirror, visible to all while outside the reflector, stemming from his reflection, and ties the two together.
Connected, the two are tied by fate, always perceptive of the thread and affect each other so much more.
Conditionally Costless:
If the target is partially possessed by a ghost invited by Nathan, he can instead bind his reflection to the damned, skipping the process of pulling the thread into the mirror and instead binding the two within the mirror realm.
Exert your Mind (unless the target possesses one of your Augments) and spend an Action. Select a Animate target within arm's reach. You may select a target at any range if you use up a mirror that the target actively used of the target. You must actively and obviously use a mirror to activate this Effect. The target may Resist.
Your target is marked with a very fine red thread drifting from them, dissipating into nothingness. The mark can only be discovered with a deep medical inspection or Effect. Removal inflicts a Severity 1 Injury on the target.
You are aware of the marked target's direction and distance from you. This lasts for the next month, or until either the mark is removed, or you choose to end the Effect. You can have up to 8 marks active.
You receive +2 dice to any rolls made against a marked target.
This Effect is obviously Alien and eye-catching across its range to those witnessing it, and you are obviously the source.
Your Marked targets are all similarly aware of your direction and distance from them while the Mark is active.
The Doctor examines their patient and gives a standard medical checkup, asking them questions, nodding to themselves, and muttering arcane medical jargon. The examination reveals an extraordinary amount of detail about any medical issues suffered by the patient.
Spend one minute. Select a Sapient target or a Creature within arm's reach. You must actively converse with the individual in question for one minute in order to gather any information. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Medicine at Difficulty 6. The target may Resist.
You learn all the following information about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
The Scepter of Ang-Kapal is a gruesome device fashioned to look like a skeletal arm clutching a glass eye. When used, blood from the person holding is drawn into the eye where it swirls with dark energy. The eye turns to a nearby corpse and shudders, reviving the creature. The creature does not retain any of its memories or personality, but it is absolutely loyal to whoever is holding the scepter.
The Scepter of Ang Kepal has the unfortunate side effect of driving its owner mad.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach with at least half its skeletal structure remaining. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma.
Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.
The creature lasts for eight hours or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.
Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.
Destroying one of your zombies requires a called shot to the head or heart. All other Injuries zombies suffer result in Battle Scars only, limiting their mobility and effectiveness in other ways.
Your revived targets deal 2 Weapon Damage with their unarmed attacks.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
The Thief examines an object closely for a minute to appraise its value. As their eyes dance across the subject, their pupils split vertically, and their irises fade to gold. If it is a particularly valuable item, the Thief may greedily lick their lips, revealing a forked tongue.
Within a minute, they have determined how materially valuable the object is and why.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a target Object within arm's reach. At the end of your investigation, roll Charisma + Culture at Difficulty 6.
You learn all the following information about your target:
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
The doctor heals severe injuries in minutes using only standard medical supplies. Lacerations seal under the needle and thread, and reset bones can be used shortly after.
However, for the treatment to last, the patient must adhere to any aftercare regimen the doctor requires. Those who violate the doctor's orders suffer their injuries anew.
Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use basic medical supplies to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 8.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain. You may specify a specific condition that the patient must adhere to. If they break this condition, the treatment is immediately reversed. Record this regimen as a Condition. Lasts until the end of their next Contract or 1 month for non-Contractors.
This witch is a cruel and vengeful creature who works her vile arts against those she deems worthy of punishment. All she must do is point. A flash of green lightning strikes her victim and disappears. Immediately, or upon the completion of some condition, if the witch chooses, the victim's body warps and shifts into a gross mockery of its former self. Whether she's giving someone the head of a donkey or stealing their voice, the witch's enemies always get what is coming to them.
The sheer wickedness of this spell corrupts the witch, giving her a disgusting, witchy appearance.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and Spend an Action. Select a Living target within 45 feet. Roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6. The target may roll Body, -2 dice at Difficulty 7, as a Free Action to resist.
If you succeed, the target receives a new Battle Scar of your choosing, limited by the contested Outcome:
When you activate this Effect, instead of occurring immediately, you may choose to delay its effects until the target takes a particular Action. For example: "when they fire a gun" or "when they swim in deep water."
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Witchy Appearance. You have a long, warty nose and chin, wrinkled skin, and a hunch back. Social rolls are at +2 Difficulty, and your free movement is reduced by 10 feet.
Your alteration "heals" over the course of the next month, after which it is fully cured.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Compulsion for payback. You must roll Self-Control to avoid using this Gift on anyone who wrongs you in a major way.
