When Preston dies, if he was wearing an amulet, his body magically disappears, leaving only his clothes. If anyone ever holds the amulet and says "Preston" 3 times in a row, he returns. After returning, Preston prefers wearing lighter colors and being more serious and objective-oriented.
Typically, Preston wears a large amulet inscribed with "Say Preston 3 times to unlock this amulet's power."
You gain the following benefits at all times. You must actively and obviously be using an amulet to gain the benefits of this Effect.
If you would take an Injury that would kill you, you don’t die. Your body disappears and you leave The amulet you are wearing, now glowing about as much as a glowstick. In order to bring you back, someone must perform a simple ritual using it during a Downtime. You return fully healed of all Injuries.
The Rune of Revival is one of the most potent runes available to the Dragon Slayer, capable of reviving them from death so long as it remains intact. Once the Rune triggers, the Dragon Slayer is pulled to their feet as a wave of magical light washes over them, repairing the fatal injury.

You remain incapacitated until the following ritual is performed with the token: The Rune of Revival must be placed in the mouth of the corpse as they are given a last rite, the eyes closed and arms crossed over their chest.

You gain the following benefits at all times.
Any Injury you receive from a source other than blessed weapons heals quickly, reducing its Severity by one level every 10 minutes. Any Injuries you receive while this Effect is active do not deteriorate over time. However, any Battle Scars caused by such an Injury will remain unless it is Properly Stabilized as normal.
As long as at least half your body remains intact, you cannot die and remain at Incapacitated, regardless of how many Injuries you take. It is clear to observers that you are still alive.
Injuries you receive from blessed weapons are increased in Severity by 1.

If you would take an Injury that would kill you, you don’t die. Instead, you survive in an Incapacitated state. While incapacitated, you can take one Action per minute, starting one minute after you were incapacitated. This state lasts for the next hour, at which point you fully return to life.
If, while you are unconscious, your wound level rises above your rating in Body + twice your Intellect, or if you take an Injury with Severity greater than twice your rating in Intellect, you die. After you return, the Injury that would have killed you, as well as any Injuries sustained while Incapacitated, are healed. Battle scars obtained during this time remain.
After you recover from near death, you may roll Body at Difficulty 7. Success will stabilize any remaining Injuries.
When she dies, her body ignites, implodes, crumpling and smoldering, turning to ash, all of the metal from her bones condensing into her heart.
When her corium heart is introduced to the flames, she burst forth from the flames temporarily taking the form of a radioactive green firebird, made of molten metal, before reforming into a humanoid shape as the metal cools.

After you return, the Injury that would have killed you, as well as any Injuries sustained while Incapacitated, are healed. Battle scars obtained during this time remain.
Because of the girls’ joint life force, Grace cannot be killed by mundane means. Perhaps she never could, or perhaps she hit a benchmark in power that solidified this. The only thing that can truly take her down is the removal of her belt of dead man’s hair, and of course, an exorcism. On the event of her death, Obedience and the rest of the menagerie leave with a heartbroken wail as all of Grace’s injuries, hunger, thirst, and exhaustion that were prevented by her catch up and wither the girl into a bloody husk.
When Grace and Obedience first met, Obedience saved her life. She had been fatally wounded, curled on the pavement and crying in a pathetic anger before her attacker. Neither of them wanted her to die, and that is the reason they joined in the first place. Light filtered through the blue, wraith-like form of her future best friend became some perversion of the light at the end of the tunnel… and she woke up healed.

While Incapacitated, your only weakness is a proper exorcism, and if you take damage from it, you will die. Damage from other sources will still be dealt and can cause Battle Scars, but will never kill you. If your weakness is not immediately intuitive or obvious, attackers may be able to make some sort of knowledge roll to discover it, at GMs discretion. After you return, the Injury that would have killed you, as well as any Injuries sustained while Incapacitated, are healed. Battle scars obtained during this time remain.
You never know whether or not the musician's death is merely part of the performance.

After you return, the Injury that would have killed you, as well as any Injuries sustained while Incapacitated, are healed. Battle scars obtained during this time remain.
