Benny is transformed into a vile creature of the night! His skin has faded to a deathly pale, only regaining something close to human complexion in the immediate aftermath of feeding on human blood, and his irises are a dark blood red, though they fade slightly if he hasn't fed in some time. His visage easily fades into nothing when it is shrouded in shadow, leaving only a faint impression of nasty red eyes for those who know where to look.
He withers when exposed to direct sunlight or when he has been unable to feed in the past day, but otherwise has gained inhuman strength, speed, and irresistibility from his devil's bargain.
You gain the following benefits as long as Benny has fed in the last 24 hours and is not in direct sunlight.
You are permanently and visibly transformed: into a fearsome vampire, with deathly pale skin and blood-red irises. You are considered to be a Sapient, Non-Living being when targeted. Your Brawn is increased by 2, your Dexterity is increased by 1, and your Charisma is increased by 1
Your body is adapted to hiding in shadows or darkness. You receive +3 dice on non-attack rolls related to hiding in shadows or darkness.
You are immune to damage from cold. If cold is a substantial component of other damage you would take (e.g. falling from a great distance into a vat of liquid nitrogen), that damage is reduced by 2 (in addition to Armor)
Your Injuries no longer degrade with time.
This Power causes a mutation that elicits a strong, negative social response from the average person in your World: Every tooth in your mouth is a savage fang capable of tearing into flesh.
The Severity of any Injury caused by heat or fire is increased by 2
Grace holds an apple (likely bruised and a little old) in her hands and focuses on good memories. With help from the Dead Kid Tea Party, the potency of the memories imbues the apple with a healing effect that reminds the target of whatever place feels like home to them. The fruit crackles as its composition changes, glowing Obedience’s ghostly blue from inside. The glow follows the bites of apple as they move from the target’s throat, to chest, to stomach.
“Happy thoughts, huh? Good on you, kiddo.”
The apples started when Grace became homesick in England. Missing Jersey and her old hidey holes, and farther back, her bedroom… blanket caves were always her favorite. Before she was able to recreate that with Chamael’s help, her desperation gave her a fix.
Grace made the realization that allowing her mind to wander off to bitter and bad memories changes the apple to be just as bitter, soaked in cyanide. She's on guard about it now, and is considering possibilities...
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must use up apple in order to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 8.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
If your Outcome is greater than the Severity of the Injury you were attempting to treat, you may apply any excess Outcome to other Injuries on the same patient.
The spirit of Yoritomo Yoshitsune, the legendary samurai, has partially possessed Leon. After possessing Yoritomo's body in a trial to earn the recognition of the spirit of Japanese Valor, he made the spirit's recognition. Leon has been imparted with significant skill with the long arms he was known for using.
You gain the following benefits as long as you are engaged in combat with Japanese Long Arms.
+2 dice to all rolls with Japanese Long Arms. You may Defend against firearm attacks from any range using Japanese Long Arms.
You also gain the following effects:
Fexts are incredibly durable and resist all forms of attack except those caused by glass
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You have 2 Armor, which reduces incoming damage from all sources of physical attack except Glass. Armor from multiple sources does not stack.
You may Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction to double your armor rating for the Round.
These extra abilities from Aria's shooting expertise, were gained due to the various missions that her mistress sent her on... missions requiring ultimate skill, stealth and awareness.
You gain the following benefits as long as engaged in combat with Long bow.
You receive +2 dice to all rolls using Long bow. Reloading is considered a Free Action.
You also gain the following effects:
The sword begins to glow as their spirit passes through the hilt and takes direct control of the wielder.
Exert your Mind and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: channelling power as runes of power begin to glow along your blade. Select a Animate target within arm's reach. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted. Roll Brawn + Alertness at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you possess your target for a number of days equal to the Contested Outcome. The target largely has no control over the host body’s actions, but they may Exert their Mind to take over for a 3 second period, after which you regain control. They retain consciousness and will remember anything that occurs during the possession. While the possession is active, the host body will the flesh they used to pick you up fuses around your hilt, making it very obvious to anyone who sees them that something is not right.
Your original body will be left behind, unconscious, in its same location. You may perceive through your original body's senses by Concentrating. If your original body is touched, you may roll Perception + Alertness to notice. You may spend an Action to end the possession early.
Stats: During the possession, you use the host body’s Body rating, but your own Mind rating. Any rolls you make use the host body’s Brawn, Dexterity, and Perception but your own Charisma and Intellect. You may use either your own or the host’s Ability ratings, whichever is higher. You gain the effects of any physical Assets and Liabilities they have. You cannot read the target’s mind or memories.
Gifts: You have access to and can use any of your own Powers which are not intrinsic to your biology or physical body. You cannot access any Powers or other supernatural effects which the target has, unless they are intrinsic to the target’s biology or physical body.
Death: If the host body is killed or destroyed while you are still possessing it, you are evicted to your original body. If the possession ends and your original body was killed or destroyed in some way, your disembodied spirit will haunt the location where your body died, and the only action you can take is activating this Effect on a new target within arm's reach.
Eviction: If the host body is ever not within arm's reach of your original body, you will be forced out. If you attempt to force your host to take actions which would violate one of their Limits or their instinct for self-preservation, they may resist by rolling Mind. If their Outcome is higher than or equal to the contested Outcome, the possession ends and you are evicted from their body. If they fail, you remain in control.
While this Effect is active, you are at -2 dice to all Actions and cannot Concentrate.
Through the use of clever rhetoric, the spy is able to inspire a surge of emotion in a target with whom they are speaking.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living target within 45 feet as well as a specific emotion. This Effect cannot be used unless you are engaged in conversation with the target. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 8.
If you succeed, for the next minute, your target will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by the chosen emotion. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
The time-twister spins a dial on one of her watches, slowing time for everyone but her and one other person.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must actively and obviously use a watch or clock to activate this Effect.
Lasts 1 minute. Whenever you use your Movement, after all other calculations, the distance you may travel is doubled.
Outside of Combat, any non-Gift, non-movement Actions you attempt take drastically less time to complete, as long as your personal speed is a factor in the Action. Total time reduction is determined by the GM and capped at 90% (executing the Action takes no less than 1/10th the normal time).
While using this Effect, you may carry one other being without affecting your Encumbrance, so long as you maintain contact with them for the duration and they consent or are grappled.
As a free creature, The Fairy cannot withstand being caged or imprisioned in any way. Luckily, they possess a glamour that allows them to unlock any lock binding them with a wink of their eye. The lock falls open with a sparkle of light and a sound like a ringing bell.
Spend an Action. Select a door, lock, or locked target within arm's reach. Cannot be used on Alien technology. This Effect cannot be used unless the targeted lock or door is being used to restrain or imprison you.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
The mobster presents a reasoned, logical case to the target: there's a lot of dangerous folks out there, and only they can offer safety... for a price.
If they agree, they will pay the mobster a monthly fee for protection. If they stop making their payments... well, let's just say, the mobster can't be held responsible for any unsavory types that might pay them a visit.
This Effect cannot be used unless you are making a deal to exchange money for protection.
You may make an oath with a physically-present, Sapient target. Communicate the oath's terms to the target, including the requirements and penalties for each participant. If all agree to the terms, you must Exert your Mind and all participants must shake hands to seal the deal.
Record the oath as a Condition. If a party breaks the oath, the Condition ends and they suffer the oath's penalty.
When crafting your oath, you may incorporate any of the following penalties:
The target cannot be compelled to agree via a direct threat of violence, another Effect, or another oath. If you would like to use clever wording to mislead the target, you must succeed a contested Intellect + (Culture or Influence) roll.
The Thief has a stash in which they can store a few objects. It can be accessed through any burlap sack.
Spend a Quick Action. You must actively and obviously use a burlap sack to activate this Effect.
You may withdraw an item from your stash, or add an item that is within arm’s reach to your stash. You may only stash targets which are in your possession, grappled, or otherwise controlled by you.
You may store Objects in your stash, each no larger than something which could fit inside a briefcase (15 liters), and you may store up to 3 things at a time.
You may choose to equip any equipment you withdraw at no additional cost.
