A yellow ball right below his stomach
Chop Chop Chop
Bu Fang spending many many years as a chef assistant chopping up tofu, radish, onions and the likes, has built up his dexterity. His body starts developing Qi which condenses into a dantian in between his stomach and his naval. A small mark showing right there.
You gain the following benefits as long as you have your Dantian (right between his stomach and naval).
Your Dexterity rating is increased by 1. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Dexterity (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).
If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.
You also gain the following effects:
The Vampire was cursed to forever be a vile creature of the night! Their skin has faded to a deathly pale, only regaining something close to human complexion in the immediate aftermath of feeding on human blood. They are weakened when exposed to direct sunlight or when they have been unable to feed in the past day, but otherwise has gained inhuman strength, speed, and irresistibility from their devil's bargain.
You gain the following benefits as long as you are not in direct sunlight and you have fed on fresh human blood in the past 24 hours.
You are permanently and visibly transformed: a seductive and powerful humanoid, with pale skin and wicked fangs. You are considered to be a Sapient, Non-Living being when targeted. Your Dexterity is increased by 1, your Perception is increased by 1, and your Charisma is increased by 1.
Your Injuries no longer degrade with time. You do not age naturally, and supernatural attempts to age you fail.
The Severity of any Injury caused by fire and heat is increased by 2.
Whispers begin. They Soft at first, like distant voices carried on the wind, but they grow insistent, layered, overlapping—a chorus of something hungry speaking in tongues long forgotten. The sound doesn’t come from any one direction but seems to press in from all sides, worming into the minds of those who witness the event.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Sapient target within arm's reach. You must use up Animal bones in order to activate this Effect. Your target must make a Trauma roll to reap the benefits of this Effect. They may choose to Resist the Effect and not make the roll. Your target may Resist to cancel the transfer.
You may choose one each of as many things as you like from the following to transfer from your target to yourself, or from yourself to them:
Whenever you transfer an Injury, it's Severity increases by 1. Whenever you transfer Mind damage or Traumas, the recipient takes an additional Mind damage.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Hands are blackened and have weird purple veins to her elbows.
Ted Westwood, survivor of over a dozen Contracts, has experienced horrors most mortal men would never dare face, and been traumatised over and over by the things that lurk in the dark. At this point, he's starting to get pretty numb, all things considered, and the things in the dark, that try to worm their tendrils into his mind, are liable to get burned by the things previous invaders left behind.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You get +2 dice to any Mind resistance rolls you make. You also gain the following effects:
Ghosts, deities, the passage of time - whatever is used to describe the 4th dimension, is just a facsimile of the human attempt to place everything into neat little boxes. Delphyrion, in this search for what they cannot perceive, has fallen into some sort of liminal space. What used to be a public figure is just an outline, a symbol of the passage of time as they progress through their life.
Those who try to look at them can barely see this cross-section, eyes glazing over before they could grasp who or what Delphyrion might be.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You and everything you are carrying is obscured in one of the following manners. You may Spend an Action to change the way in which you're concealed.
While this Effect is active, any Effect that would obscure you or your equipment specifically from other, additional senses fails automatically.
If someone discovers you, this Effect will not help you hide from them for the next minute. This Effect does not end early when you activate an obvious Effect, attack, or receive an Injury.
You may turn this Effect on and off at will during its duration.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Paranoia: You have a natural distrust of everyone around you, and are always on edge looking for threats.
With Eliza's help, Laz can manipulate the electrical fields immediately around him to manipulate locks with any electronic control. Where this used to be achieved by manipulating an external device, subtle (and not so subtle) shifts in how his nanotech interacts with the world have enabled him to eliminated that dependency, albeit at the cost of diminished range. It's still not a terrible idea to wave his card over a reader to help add a sense of normalcy to the event, when possible. very savvy observers might notice a static spark between him and the reader or door involved, though most might just think he had scuffed his feet on some carpet.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Non-Alien electronically controlled lock within arm's reach.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is static discharge when touching the reader or door. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
The aquamancer channels a nearby source of water into a flexible whip, which can be used to attack or to defend.
Spend an Action. Select a target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use at least a gallon of water to activate this Effect. Roll Dexterity + Athletics Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4.
You may use this Effect to Defend against any melee, projectile, or firearm Attacks within range or Clash against any Attack targeted at you. Using it to Defend deals no Damage but does not cost Exertion.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
Who wouldn't want one of the mad scientist's famous implants? All it takes is a little time and a few terrifying experiments, and you too could be a better you!
Warning: not fully tested on humans. Risk of dry mouth, upset stomach, or lost limbs. Do not consult your doctor before signing the liability release.
Exert your Mind and spend eight hours. Select a Living or Animate target within arm's reach. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you cause a major Battle Scar instead of an augmentation. Your target must make a Trauma roll to reap the benefits of this Effect. They may choose to Resist the Effect and not make the roll. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Battle Scar and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
The augmentations you provide are not outwardly visible nor obvious.
While transformed, the Werewolf can leap great distances, climbing structures and closing the gap to their prey.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location which is at most 60 feet away horizontally or 15 feet away vertically. This Effect cannot be used unless you are in werewolf form.
You jump to the chosen location. If jumping blind or landing precariously, must roll Dexterity + Athletics to land safely. You will never take fall Damage from successfully landing a jump made with this Effect.
You may opt to trade your free movement for a Super Leap if you are jumping less than 50 feet or if you are closing a gap to an opponent and spend your Action on an attack.
You never know whether or not the musician's death is merely part of the performance.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
If you would take an Injury that would kill you, you don’t die. Instead, you survive in an Incapacitated state. This state lasts for the next hour, at which point you fully return to life. Unstabilized Injuries do not degrade while you are Incapacitated
If, while you are unconscious, your wound level rises above your rating in Body + Charisma, or if you take an Injury with Severity greater than your rating in Charisma, you die. After you return, the Injury that would have killed you, as well as any Injuries sustained while Incapacitated, are healed. Battle scars obtained during this time remain.
The spy can twist the urban environment to their whims, erecting fences, walls, and barriers as needed. They whistle and gesture to where the wall should be, and the surrounding materials fly into place.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within 50 feet. You must be in an area abundant with man-made structures and materials.
Select one of the following alterations to create out of standard building materials originating at the target:
The alteration begins to form when you activate this Effect and finishes forming on your initiative in the next Round. Until it finishes forming, it is not guaranteed to function.
This alteration lasts one minute but may be prematurely destroyed or altered. Your alterations may be broken through with appropriate tools. Anyone attempting to break through must roll Brawn + a relevant Ability. A cumulative Outcome of 6 across all attempts breaks a hole large enough to move through. See the extended system text for GM guidance on various tools.
