Gen-Wyld: Beyond Natural
On March 14, 2018, a little-known company named Gen-Wyld announced FDA approval for a groundbreaking procedure to enhance a patient’s primary and secondary sexual characteristics using gene therapy. The company was an overnight success.
Shortly thereafter, they introduced a suite of gene-altering body modification procedures that allowed patients to make dramatic aesthetic changes to their bodies by gene-splicing “non-human” anatomy. Those daring (and wealthy) enough can now add cuttlefish pigmentation to their skin, sport a pair of fox ears, and even add a functional tail. While rare, these so-called “modders” draw plenty of hate from conservative communities.
Thanks to their revolutionary procedures, Gen-Wyld is now a household name. Norman Carlson, Gen-Wyld’s chief evangelist, recently announced the company is in the trial phase for a groundbreaking treatment for diabetes.
Yet despite their success, a shroud of secrecy surrounds Gen-Wyld. Their no-patent policy obscures the secrets of their procedures from the public eye. Financial experts claim that Gen-Wyld is run less like a traditional business and more like an NGO with some specific, unknown objective.
Some claim that they will not stop until humanity has been reduced to monstrous slaves and that Gen-Wyld’s board of directors will install themselves as inhuman overlords of the new world order.
However, until the true secrets behind Gen-Wyld are discovered, the genetic biotech firm will continue to grow, develop, and progress its grand designs.

Akuloth
Also known as "His Sacred White Worm". But I avoid calling it that in polite company.
Saša seems to just shrug off most illnesses with little to no reaction.
The Akuloth is a tape-worm like creature that was fed to Saša's mother while she was still pregnant. The creature latched onto Saša's still developing spine, fusing with it. It is now functionally invisible, except for those who know what to look for during a surgery.
The Akuloth is able to shield Saša from illness and any other bodily ailments by consuming them.

As the swords-woman cuts the head from the plague zombie that was once her friend, she gets a tap on the shoulder. "Uh...are you gonna eat that?"
Edgar, by his unique physiology & his profession, has little to fear from disease, poison, or most other toxins. However, the ghoul is a natural carrier for disease - & can continue to spread them even after the symptoms have passed.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You get +0 dice to any Body resistance rolls you make. You also gain the following effects:
- Purge Toxins: You may take a Severity-1 Injury to cancel the effect of any non-Alien drug, poison, or toxin in your system, as long as you are aware of its existence.
- Total Immunity: You are immune to all diseases, venoms, and toxins, including Alien ones.
- Typhoid Mary: You may choose to still be a carrier of any diseases you come into contact with, even if you don't contract them, and even after you are no longer suffering any symptoms.
- These bonuses apply only to Body rolls made to resist Effects and other supernatural phenomena. They do not apply to other contexts such as attacks made while under the Creature Transformation Effect.
Tenacious Thing
When Nikki gets into the fight, her body can take quite a bit of punishment.

This device is a piece of chrome the size and shape of the back of a spoon. When placed against the skin, small hypodermic needles sprout from the device and attach it to the user's bloodstream. There, it filters and releases lifesaving drugs into the bloodstream, granting complete immunity from contracting new diseases and added resiliency in all other cases.
WARNING: The immunizing drugs have been shown to reduce inhibitions in test subjects.
