The Sons of Salem
We swear to secure our people against the wickedness and evil of the invisible world.
We swear to aid the afflicted.

The Sons of Salem is a loosely-organized conservative populist movement in the United States that preaches violent opposition to anything they perceive as witchcraft, demonic, or monstrous.
Blowhard podcaster Ted Gundy and former general of the mercenary group “Hognose,” Roland Rush, founded the movement in 2010 after a series of violent werewolf attacks and unexplained, supernatural murders in Tennessee. Memberships grew quickly, stoked by Ted’s fiery doomsday rhetoric on his podcast "Truth Seekers" and the aspiration of the masculine power embodied by Roland.
Although they speak of duty, honor, and maintaining the “natural order” of things, the Sons of Salem are driven by fear. They collect guns and appear at protests en-masse as a way of easing the all-consuming terror of their powerlessness. At the same time, they have conditioned themselves to respond to fear with “strength” (read: violence).

The McGurk effect

Being able to talk to all kinds of creative minds and being able to read books of all languages, was a childhood dream of Roberta.
Having being imbued has finally made that dream come true.
The McGurk effect shows, that the movements of the lips we perceive when talking someone, impacts the words we hear. The same sound can be perceived differently depending on the shape of the lips, that we see.
This is why, Roberta struggles to talk to people when not wearing her glasses.
This is the pathway to unlimited creative inspiration.
You gain the following benefits at all times. You must actively and obviously be using Glasses to gain the benefits of this Effect.

This also includes understanding any recorded communications from the relevant targets, including writings, scent trails, etc.

The Language of the Birds
Understanding birdsong, or any animal really.
A lot of animal communication is soundless, and most of that is through movement and posture. I've learned to understand that and make the appropriate motions in return. That much is obvious to anyone's eyes, though they may not realize that I intuitively understand the sounds animals make as well. When communicating back with them it can get tricky, I haven't learned many of the right sounds in their speech. Thankfully they understand my tone of voice for emotional context, even when I'm whistling to a bird or meowing to a cat. They seem to pick up on human language, at least when I say it, but it's like someone speaking with a bad accent. If I'm slow they get enough, and maybe part of the problem is that humans use more intricate concepts linguistically. Animals don't need most of that.
Anyhow, they get me and I get them, but if I take the form of a similar enough animal (or the same kind) then they understand me flawlessly. We can talk easier then, and also not be understood by humans when we talk.
Some legends talk about humans learning the languages of animals, often from a mystical source like tasting dragon blood, but also as simple as being taught bird tongue by a bird. How did this ability spontaneously manifest? Honestly, it's through an inherent connection with animals that comes about from latent and innate shapeshifting abilities. It's in the blood, metaphorically anyway.

Grace brings Sally out from her designated satchel and sets her in front of the dead body (or token for it). Grace’s eyes flashing red, then Sally’s, then the targets- like a chain- means the connection is successful.
Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action to activate. Select a Dead target of which you have a Fetter that was important to them.
The target can communicate in your language for the next hour.

Humility is lowering oneself to the level of the beasts. As Margaret’s occult heritage asserts itself, she finds she may converse with animals. Usually this conversation is whispered and private.

Kingly Empathy
Speak thy mind.
Astraeus spends a minute focusing, a finger or two placed on his forehead as he draws forth the power, upon which a small, gleaming yellow fleur-de-lis appears. He and those affected feel strangely connected to eachother, unless they have an already bad relationship. Nevertheless, Astraeus gains the ability to commune with just about anyone, using the subject’s most familiar ‘language’.
