As Joe looks upon the target with compassion, his skin becomes vibrant. The target soon feels the warmth of the sun balanced by a cool ocean breeze from head to toe. The sensation fades as quickly as it came, and an unusual tattoo is the only evidence of their Scar.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You cannot target yourself. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar will heal immediately. Your patient is required to cause no intentional Injury, directly or indirectly, to any Living being for the next month. If they violate this rule, your treatment is immediately reversed.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is Joe's skin becomes vibrant like he just had a 3-hour full-body massage. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind a tattoo like the rippling effect of sunlight shining down through water that faintly glows in the dark on the target which cannot be healed.
Coded script rolls over the glass eye, calculating distance before folding space to deliver the wielder to a location they can see. Works especially well through placed Wards -
Exert your Mind and spend 2 Actions. Select a Location within your line of sight. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you Miss the Landing (Severity 4 or Off Target).
You are transported directly to the chosen Location. You must wait 1 full Round before activating this Effect again.
You may also Exert your Mind and spend an Action to Travel in a random direction without any knowledge of an endpoint or destination. Roll Intellect + Technology at Difficulty 6 to safely arrive without any consequences.
The spiritual and the physical are often construed as opposing realms, like day and night. In reality, especially regarding the world of art, the spiritual is capable of meaning more than one may realize. In this case, when the user clearly understands their intent and can visualize the object they wish to fix, they are able to dive into the spirit world and retrieve the desires of the creator of this object and re-well them back into the object, revitalizing it's dutiful spirit and repairing it in the process.
Luci has often reported catching glimpses of the original creators and designers obsessing over their work as she fixes the object of her current obsession.
However, there is always a chance that when pulling those spiritual desires, one may unintentionally drag along some unwanted baggage that may stick with them for longer than a few seconds.
Matter and energy can not be created or destroyed. Its fuel must come from somewhere.
Spend 1 Action. Select a Object within arm's reach that is of any size. You may target Alien technology, so long as you have an understanding of its intended function. When repairing Alien targets, you must Exert your Mind. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma. More than half the target object must be present in order to begin repairs. Roll Perception + Crafts at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, your target is repaired back to a functional state. If you fail, you spend the full time working before realizing you cannot repair the target. If your target only requires fuel or power and is otherwise in working order, this Effect costs no Exertion, and the target is fueled/powered for the next 24 hours.
A ritual circle of crystals helps the subject.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use set of crystals to activate this Effect. When you Activate this Effect, roll a single d10. If the result is 5 or lower, your target receives a Minor Battle Scar. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
while this effect is active I take on a demon visage and demonic sigils for around those protected.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. Roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you create a Barrier extending out 15 feet from your target, which absorbs 2 times the next Outcome + 4 Damage. Only applies to attacks which originated outside the 15 foot radius, and protects anyone who is within that radius. You may choose to create a bubble barrier. If you do, no physical objects or entities can pass into your bubble until the barrier is broken, but you and the barrier cannot move. Any Damage absorbed by the barrier is reflected back to the attacker, up to a maximum of the Barrier Strength Parameter’s bonus. Their Armor applies in full. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.
You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see Demonic.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: demon sigil over his right eye.
Oleander is well-versed in good study habits. As he investigates a place, he verbally describes each little detail that he sees, and that helps him make sense of what he's seeing; it might even gain him some new insight on this scene.
On places:
Oleander has traveled to many places in his lifetime for his job, yet he still has so much left to learn about the world at large. Now it's bigger than ever. He doesn't know how to feel about that yet.
On yapping:
Being restricted on the grounds of keeping up his reputation has left him deeply unsatisfied whenever he exists in silence. He'll yap to people and plants and even inanimate structures. He'll start talking to himself if he must; it's a good studying habit anyway. Oleander needs all he can to study the cases he's working on. He can't let a single detail escape him in court.
On information:
The internet is a vast place, and he often uses it to go down rabbitholes because of a related subject in a case. He'll always watch timelapses as a way to calm down, and this has inevitably led to more familiarity with how various things age over time.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet At the end of your investigation, roll Charisma + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about the area:
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.
The detective pulls out their magnifying glass and investigates the area, learning details about any nearby structures and picking up details on what sorts of beings have passed through and when.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet You must actively and obviously use a magnifying glass to activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.
Come one, come all! Stand in amazement and behold as the Fire Eater consumes a flame as if it were cotton candy! Gasp with fright as they breathe a plume of fire a great distance! And yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is quite dangerous.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: perform a fire-breathing trick. Select a target within 20 feet which has both fuel and oxygen available (if you are starting a new fire). Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you take a Severity-4 Injury as the fire burns your throat. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.
You may start or extinguish a fire as large as a firepit's fire at your target. Extinguishing a fire does not cost Exertion. You may create or extinguish fires the size of a lighter or candle flame without Exerting your Mind. Your fires require fuel and oxygen in order to continue burning.
Lighting a target on fire deals 4 Damage each Round on your turn, starting in the Round after the one in which they caught fire. This Damage is reduced by Armor, but the target’s Armor rating will be shredded by any Damage dealt, destroying material Armor once it reaches 0.
You may extinguish flames as a Reaction. This does not extend to explosives.
The Psychic can speak directly into someone's mind, engaging in an entirely telepathic conversation. While they do, they take on a blank, vacant stare in the direction of their target, and appear to be muttering gibberish to themselves under their breath.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target any distance away from you. You must have a specific target in mind, but you require only an intuitive understanding of them, such as their name, face, or Location. This Effect cannot be used unless you can see your target.
You open up a line of communication to your target, and may converse with them as long as one of you maintains Concentration
The conversation will only be perceived by the intended recipient. You must share a common language for your target to understand the message.
The magician places a mirror to reflect a subject and conjures an illusion that perfectly replicates it!
If the illusion is touched, it shatters into a thousand tiny shards of glass.
Exert your Mind and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: place a mirror such that it reflects the subject of your illusion. Select a target within 45 feet. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.
a reflection of something else in the area, which can be no larger than a person is generated at your target, and it will remain in place for the next minute or you choose to end it. It can be perceived by people through their sight. The illusion cannot be used as an attack. You may create a replica of a specific being or Object, though it is still limited by what you do or do not know about the subject.
Anyone who touches the illusion (or who would be able to perceive it significantly through a sense it cannot fool) realizes it is an illusion, and the entire effect will be ended for all targets.
The illusion will remain fixed to its initial target, and can only change locations if the initial target is mobile in some way. It may have moving parts and engage in simple, predetermined movements but cannot perform anything complex or interactive unless you maintain Concentration and “puppeteer” it.
The mobster presents a reasoned, logical case to the target: there's a lot of dangerous folks out there, and only they can offer safety... for a price.
If they agree, they will pay the mobster a monthly fee for protection. If they stop making their payments... well, let's just say, the mobster can't be held responsible for any unsavory types that might pay them a visit.
This Effect cannot be used unless you are making a deal to exchange money for protection.
You may make an oath with a physically-present, Sapient target. Communicate the oath's terms to the target, including the requirements and penalties for each participant. If all agree to the terms, you must Exert your Mind and all participants must shake hands to seal the deal.
Record the oath as a Condition. If a party breaks the oath, the Condition ends and they suffer the oath's penalty.
When crafting your oath, you may incorporate any of the following penalties:
The target cannot be compelled to agree via a direct threat of violence, another Effect, or another oath. If you would like to use clever wording to mislead the target, you must succeed a contested Intellect + (Culture or Influence) roll.
