The user watches the pocket watch tick down in a irregular pattern, sharp purple eyes can be seen closing slowly as the dials spin. The user then clicks the winder once the eyes are closed and they burst open with a soft rumble, opening doors and safes with a mere gaze to feed the desires of the user.
In car form, the same is done via the headlights/taillights.
The pocket watch grows in power.
The user feels it watching them in the night, watching their movements, their desires, their pleasures. It studies them.
Spend an Action. Select a door, lock, or locked target within 300 feet. Cannot be used on Alien technology.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
Called for and slipping out from behind Grace’s head like an ash-black Cheshire, Horatio comes padding silently from behind the girls' head, down to their arms. A quick swipe of his claws, and a wound is opened- but on Obedience’s arm, not Grace's. The girls drip the ethereal blood into the mouth of the target, sharing the substance free of all physical impurities and full of life that won't quit to cleanse them. The target glows faintly blue from their throat, to their chest, to their stomach as their body is cleansed, but the process is not complete until 15 minutes later when they spit up blackened, viscous and diseased-saturated fluid.
If Grace needs to clear an area of disease, she may have Horatio cut a bit deeper so that she can walk a spiral, dripping blood that soaks into the ground and cleanses it just as well. This is an effect partially left over from Obedience's time as a tree, learning root systems and what it means to be connected to the heartbeat of the ground.
Pesticides, maggots, lockjaw… there is no room for restrictive impurities in Grace’s body. They were sick of it, literally and metaphorically, so they found the cleanest thing they’d always have and made use of it. Blood that never darkens or catches disease, blood that embodies will and aid. Obedience will heal- she needs only herself to do so. Horatio has the short end of the stick with his guilt, but even that is temporary.
Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach.
You may cure any Non-Alien diseases, toxins, or poisons afflicting your target even if you have not diagnosed or fully understood it. You may only cure diseases which can be treated with modern medicine. During treatment, the malady you are treating does not progress or cause additional Damage or other effects.
You may use this effect to sanitize a 15-foot radius, destroying all poisons, toxins, diseases such that they are inert and cannot affect any new targets
As River runs a finger over their ring and suggests a course of action, the person they’re talking to finds that it sounds like one of the best ideas they’ve ever heard. They might even find themselves wanting to please River, wanting to impress them. Something in River’s brain squirms, happily, wriggling its way in just a little bit farther.
The parasite that’s worked into River’s brain has psychic potential that they’re only barely beginning to understand, but it loves their natural charisma. Tips at the coffee shop have never been better.
Exert your Mind and spend at least one Action. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. You must actively and obviously use a shiny ring to activate this Effect. Your target may be actively engaged in Combat. Communicate a command to your target. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.
If the contested Outcome is positive, your target will be compelled to follow your command to their best understanding of the letter and spirit of the command until they have completed it or for your Outcome in minutes. You cannot issue another suggestion to the target until 10 minutes after they have completed the first command or 10 minutes after a failure.
The target is unaware that they are under supernatural influence and feel they are acting of their own free will. If you fail, they realize that you were attempting to influence them supernaturally with your command.
Your command can be an order to take an immediate Action. You cannot order a target to "do nothing," and they are free to take other Actions as they fulfill your request. Your command cannot be obviously self-destructive. The Effect ends if following your command would cause a target to cross one of their Limits in a way that would necessitate a Trauma roll.
You may activate this Effect as a Reaction to contest any Action a valid target is taking, reducing their Outcome by your own. Your command has no impact beyond disrupting their Action.
Averill plants his chair down and gets up on it, swinging his arms up to rile a crowd as he begins flexing and performing some of his signature moves to draw his fans' attention.
Spend an Action to activate. All Sapient, Living targets within 20 feet of you who can perceive you through Sight are affected. You must actively and obviously use A steel chair to activate this Effect. Roll Charisma + Athletics at Difficulty 6. All affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the targets will keep their full attention focused on you for contested Outcome in Rounds. They will automatically fail any rolls related to noticing anything other than you. If they cannot perceive you through Sight for three Rounds, the Effect is broken. The Effect ends early if the target is Injured or enters Combat.
This does not affect the target’s opinion of you or their mood, and they may take any Actions while affected (including attacking), as long as that action centers on you.
You may end this effect prematurely as a Free Action.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
You must retain Concentration to keep up the effect; if your Concentration is interrupted, the effect will end.
The cap of the syrette is popped of, exposing a needle which is stuck into the area of the injury being treated. The tube of the syrette gets pressed, injecting its contents into the body. Immediately after emptying the tube, the syrette is removed and the cap put back on as the injury begins to heal.
Expend a point of Battery and spend 1 minute to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome, unless it had Severity 4 or higher, in which case its Severity remains the same. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
Vittoria is a skilled psychiatrist. When listening to the patients trauma, she knows how to fix it over time.
Exert your Mind to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Over the course of one Downtime, your patient must communicate with you and reveal at least one of their Traumas to you, including the details of those Traumas and the circumstances of how they were acquired. Your target may Resist. If your treatment is successful, you may remove one of the patient's revealed Traumas without incurring any Experience cost.
The mystic can meld their aura with another, allowing them to superimpose their being, physical and mental, into a target. Observers witness the mystic fading and entering their target's body as wisps of smoke, leaving no trace of their own body behind.
While inside, they can control their target's actions. Affected targets have no memory of the experience.
Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend an Action. Select a Living or Sapient target within arm's reach. Roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you possess your target for a number of minutes equal to the Contested Outcome. The target has no control over their body or actions, and they are functionally unconscious through the entire possession, retaining no memory other than any Traumas they might obtain.
You do not leave your original body behind when you possess a target. When a possession ends, your original body will reappear at the host body’s same location. You may spend an Action to end the possession early.
Stats: During the possession, you use the host body’s Body rating, but your own Mind rating. Any rolls you make use the host body’s Brawn, Dexterity, and Perception but your own Charisma, Intellect, and Abilities. You gain the effects of any physical Assets and Liabilities they have. You cannot read the target’s mind or memories.
Gifts: You have access to and can use any of your own Powers which are not intrinsic to your biology or physical body. You cannot access any Powers or other supernatural effects which the target has, unless they are intrinsic to the target’s biology or physical body.
Death: If the host body is killed or destroyed while you are still possessing it, you will die along with it.
Eviction: If you attempt to force your host to take actions which would violate one of their Limits or their instinct for self-preservation, they may resist by rolling Mind. If their Outcome is higher than or equal to the contested Outcome, the possession ends and you are evicted from their body. Otherwise, they may Exert their Mind to evict you from their body.
The doctor heals severe injuries in minutes using only standard medical supplies. Lacerations seal under the needle and thread, and reset bones can be used shortly after.
However, for the treatment to last, the patient must adhere to any aftercare regimen the doctor requires. Those who violate the doctor's orders suffer their injuries anew.
Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use basic medical supplies to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 8.

This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain. You may specify a specific condition that the patient must adhere to. If they break this condition, the treatment is immediately reversed. Record this regimen as a Condition.

The Scepter of Ang-Kapal is a gruesome device fashioned to look like a skeletal arm clutching a glass eye. When used, blood from the person holding is drawn into the eye where it swirls with dark energy. The eye turns to a nearby corpse and shudders, reviving the creature. The creature does not retain any of its memories or personality, but it is absolutely loyal to whoever is holding the scepter.
The Scepter of Ang Kepal has the unfortunate side effect of driving its owner mad.
Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach with at least half its skeletal structure remaining. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.
Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.
The creature lasts for eight hours or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.
Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.
Destroying one of your zombies requires a called shot to the head or heart. All other Injuries zombies suffer result in Battle Scars only, limiting their mobility and effectiveness in other ways.

If the contested Outcome is positive, your targets will be compelled to follow your command to the letter-- but not necessarily the spirit-- of the command until they have completed it or for your Outcome in minutes. You cannot issue another suggestion to the target until 10 minutes after they have completed the first command or 10 minutes after a failure.
