This Artifact allows you to discover details about an Object.

On Signature Item Magnifying Glass.
(Anyone who witnesses you activate this Effect is very likely to be disturbed to see Boe take out her eye and insert it into the magnifying glass, acting as the glass. You must use this Artifact obviously when activating this Effect.)

The magnifying glass is able to gather information about an object.

Exert your Mind and spend 2 Actions. Select a target Object within 25 feet. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Alertness at Difficulty 6.

You learn all the following information about your target:

  • You gather information about where the object was made and when.
  • You receive A visual description telling you who has used this object recently.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.

Exert your Mind and spend a minute to activate. Select a target Object . At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Influence at Difficulty 6.

You learn all the following information about your target:

  • You determine which outside supernatural influences are being exercised on the target.
  • You may learn how much sentimental value an object has and to whom.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Shy.

Exert your Mind and spend a minute to activate. Select a target Object within arm's reach. You cannot investigate the same target more than once per hour. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Investigation at Difficulty 6.

You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about your target:

  • Determine if this Object is Alien in origin or whether it has any Alien energy or outside influences.
  • You learn the object's intended function and how to use it for its intended purpose, though not necessarily the ability to do so.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a Shinny within arm's reach. You cannot investigate the same target more than once per hour. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Influence at Difficulty 6.

You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about your target:

  • You learn the object's intended function and how to use it for its intended purpose, though not necessarily the ability to do so.

This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is A faint glow of the eye. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.

You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6.

You learn all the following information about your target:

  • Determine if this target is Alien in origin or whether it has any Alien energy or outside influences. You receive information about the type of energy, including the name of the relevant Source pool or equivalent. You determine the effect of any active Alien energy detected, and you get an idea as to the sorts of ways that latent Alien energy may be channeled by the target.
  • You learn the object's intended function and how to use it for its intended purpose, though not necessarily the ability to do so.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.
