The artifact can't be broken. There is a stylized "Heal the world for me- Vel" Inscribed on it.
This is an enhancement built on top of other artifacts to enhance how strong they are.
It involves using
- a variety of hard materials (iron, titanium, etc)
- a history book
- a family tree diagram
This Artifact cannot be broken.
On this artifact, there is a sizable aperture that leads inexplicably to a mass of hot metal fibres.
To activate this effect, the user reaches in and tears off chunks of fibre, which writhe and wrap painfully around the user's outstretched limb. They briefly cool and solidify, taking on the limb's appearance, before dislodging and becoming independently animate.
After three minions have been summoned, the aperture will close and remain closed until any minion is destroyed or the effect ends.
Thin metal membranes stretch outward from the centre, allowing for flight, and a frayed mouth opens across the front, mimicking the aperture on the artifact.
The minions can perceive and communicate using their antenna-like fibres and mouth respectively. They can rest in an amorphous state on your person, but take on the form of whatever appendage they first came into contact with otherwise. Their foremost edges can sharpen at will, and can deliver hot, piercing strikes as needed.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend an Action.
Summon up to 3 Sapient amorphous limbs at your location. They last until they are destroyed They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. This Artifact may have at most 3 minions active at a time.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
The pages of the journal transform into the desired identification. A passport is the most obvious 1:1 illusion, but an official government ID and badge that flips open is also possible. Other forms of ID such as driver's license, insurance ID cards, gym memberships, etc. appear as their appropriate cards encased in a laminate sheet on each page of the journal. It is impossible to remove these IDs (as their an illusion), but this inability always seems to be an inability of the user to find the laminate seam. (If necessary there will be some modification to the laminate, allowing a magnetic strip on the ID card to be scanned.)
This Artifact can change its appearance. When not transformed, it is roughly the same size as a pocket journal and just as difficult to conceal.
Spend a Quick Action to activate. This Artifact changes its appearance into an Object within the category of identification. This lasts until you decide to end the Effect, which may be done as a Free Action.
The new object's appearance can mimic specific items (such as a particular painting, a certain person’s ID, etc), but must be of a similar size and weight to this Artifact.
The new appearance is illusory; it will hold up to scrutiny, but its composition is not altered and it gains no new functionality. Any attempt to use it for a function which it cannot perform (for instance, making bread look like a knife and then trying to stab someone) will cause the illusion to fail or allow a Perception check to see through the illusion, at the GM's discretion.
When used as identification and scanned, the scanner will act appropriately and bring up appropriate generic information. Further searches for the identity in the computer will turn up no results. This will not open security doors on its own.
People hear only what they want to hear... and see what they want to see. "Oh, are you allowed to be here? I'm gonna need to see some ID, pal." Welp, they want it... and they got it! Just show them this bad boy and you can get into a lot of places!
How's this doodad work? Uh... the power of imagination... haha. Quickly think about what you wanna show it and focus... believe in yourself! With the power of belief (and a helluvalot of moxie and confidence), you can use this to get anywhere.
How'd I make it? Uh... secret processes that would be too complicated for a layman like you to understand. Now screw off!

Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action. Select a target within 10 feet.
You place a ward, which is fixed to a target Object that can be moved and repositioned. You can perceive with all your senses through the ward as though you were standing at its location. Your wards last 3 hours. This Artifact may have at most 3 wards active at once.
The ward requires Concentration to monitor, though it will remain active until you deactivate it. It can be detected with a roll and destroyed through mundane means.
You may destroy the Ward to activate one Investigate Individual, >Object, or Area Effect as though you were standing at its location.
You may declare a condition to watch for on an active Ward. If it occurs, you may roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 6, to notice it, even if you are not actively monitoring that ward.
Your Ward records all activity it observes, regardless of whether or not you are actively monitoring it. This recording can be played back and referenced later.
You may communicate through your ward, though doing so will reveal its presence.
Joshua understands the importance of a good maintenance routine. From oiling the calf skins of his drums to sewing tears in his coat to keeping his trusty caplock pistols clean, each of the items that the soldier carries is part of an intricate web of consistent upkeep. Like trusted friends, he knows that as long as he treats his equipment well, they'll never fail him in his moment of need.
He's more than willing to teach others his best practices. Amazing what can be done with a needle and thread, a rag, and a simple toolkit. Little bit of oil here, a shine there, he lays out the proper routine in plain English. As long as anyone follows his advice, their equipment can be as trusty as Joshua's.
What Joshua doesn't realize is the energies of the shattered Netherworld Portal has empowered this routine with his own latent resistance to entropy. Though he remains rigorous in his procedures (and insists others to do the same), the equipment that he's given close attention keeps itself in its best condition without any deliberate care.
As tales of Joshua's heroic exploits and good deeds continue to spread through the Netherworld and beyond, there are always people willing to lend him a hand. Even if lost, equipment maintained by Joshua will inevitably be picked up and brought back to him by a good samaritan, who will never request more than a song or two as repayment.

If this Artifact is lost and in no one’s possession, it finds its way back to its creator during the next Downtime.
This device is a piece of chrome the size and shape of the back of a spoon. When placed against the skin, small hypodermic needles sprout from the device and attach it to the user's bloodstream. There, it filters and releases lifesaving drugs into the bloodstream, granting complete immunity from contracting new diseases and added resiliency in all other cases.
WARNING: The immunizing drugs have been shown to reduce inhibitions in test subjects.
