His cheerful makeup paints an exaggerated grin across his face, with rosy cheeks and wide, innocent eyes. However, beneath the happy exterior, his smile stretches unnaturally, and from deep within him, distorted childlike screams tear through the air. Black bile drips from his mouth, staining his suit as his hands tremble around the microphone. The air around him seems to vibrate with the screams, while ghostly, mangled figures of children flicker in and out of sight. His laughter is hollow and unsettling, making his joyful appearance all the more disturbing.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Sapient or Creature target within 20 feet. You must actively and obviously use Microphone to activate this Effect. Roll Brawn + Alertness Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7. If they are incapacitated or unconscious, they fail automatically.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, your target will take 2 points of Mind Damage and gains two new Traumas of your choice. The Trauma should be general and not specifically mention you. You should not have to be involved to trigger the Trauma.
these Traumas cannot be removed by spending Experience and undergoing mundane therapy. Targets that receive a new Trauma are aware that you are interacting with them but they do not view it as an attack or view the resulting Trauma as malicious. If their Trauma is treated, they will be able to see the reality of the situation.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see Boogars grips the microphone, his mouth twitching into an exaggerated grin. As he cracks a joke, the sound of childlike screams bursts from within him—distorted, choking cries that seem to tear at his insides. His eyes roll back, and thick black bile spills from his lips, dripping onto his costume. The air around him grows cold, and the screams echo louder, as if trapped souls are trying to claw their way out of his body. His body jerks unnaturally with every laugh, and his voice warps into a grotesque, mocking rasp, drowning out the desperate wails of the children who flicker like ghosts around him. Each breath he takes is another scream, each movement a twisted mockery of joy..
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Faces in the Dark and Compulsive Mockery.
Mikey slips his pick into the lock and it clicks open without a struggle.
Spend an Action to activate. Select a door, lock, or locked target within 20 feet , which is no more complex than a personal safe door or a keycard reader. Cannot be used on Alien technology. You must actively and obviously use Lock-pick to activate this Effect.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
It's quick, and it's clean, and it's pure. Gideon's perfected the extraction of energy and the melding of it into other creatures. With this, the physical abilities of the creatures of the world can now be grafted into you without a single hint of rejection. Though it does lead to some spiritual compromises as it's undeniable that once done your soul isn't entirely human anymore.
Exert your Mind and spend eight hours. Select a Living target within arm's reach. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Battle Scar and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
By transplanting a body part from another creature, you can grant a Powers intrinsic to that body part to the subject.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see The screaming soul of the creature is injected into you and your flesh bulges and distends until settling down as it tries to fight it's way out of your body.
The XO was a proud and power hungry man. His will to keep going was so much in fact that dying and going down with his ship didn't stop him from lingering as a violent spirit. At the owner of his ledger's behest he manifests near his target and swings with his blade, the spectral weapon cuts only what is living tissue of the target, an extension of his envy.
Spend an Action. Select a target within 300 feet. Roll Charisma + Occult Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 2.
You may use this Effect to Defend against any melee, projectile, or firearm Attacks within range or Clash against any Attack targeted at you. Using it to Defend deals no Damage but does not cost Exertion.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
The broche glimmers a soft red as it afflicts the mind of their target, their minds altered and warped, allowing for orders to be followed, yet their eyes glow red and their faces blank the entire time.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend at least one Action. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. Your target may be actively engaged in Combat. Communicate a command to your target. Roll Charisma + Occult at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.
If the contested Outcome is positive, your target will be compelled to follow your command to the letter-- but not necessarily the spirit-- of the command until they have completed it or for your Contested Outcome in minutes. You cannot issue another suggestion to the target until 10 minutes after they have completed the first command or 10 minutes after a failure.
They will be unaware that they are under any sort of compulsion until the effect wears off, but they will appear obviously mind-controlled the entire time to anyone observing them. If you fail, they realize that you were attempting to influence them supernaturally with your command.
Your command can be an order to take an immediate Action and a conditional request. You cannot order a target to "do nothing," and they are free to take other Actions as they fulfill your request. Your command cannot be obviously self-destructive. The Effect ends if following your command would cause a target to cross one of their Limits in a way that would necessitate a Trauma roll.
You must have some means of communicating this command to your target, but no one other than you and them will understand or perceive it.
You may activate this Effect as a Reaction to contest any Action a valid target is taking, reducing their Outcome by your own. Your command has no impact beyond disrupting their Action. This interrupts Concentration.
This Effect ends if you are stunned, fall asleep, go unconscious, are incapacitated, die, or if your total Stress ever exceeds 5.
Polamedes withdraws some small nanobots from inside his body and lets them crawl to the end of his finger and into his eye. They pull his eyelids apart and crawl under and over his eye physically pushing it out of the way and dislodging it slightly as they do, taking measurements while doing so. After a few seconds they start forcing the eye out of the socket. They haul a still connected eyeball to the location of placement spooling out more and more retina wire as the eye is stretched away. Then the eye is sliced and pressed into position while the retinal connection is severed and coiled around the split eye to form a sort of antenna. The trailing retina cable is slowly reeled back into the eye socket before needing to be manually repositioned by placing the finger back into the empty hole and re-growing the eye with more nanomachines. Slowly pulling thin strands from the body and gluing the burgeoning eye back into place.
Spend an Action. Select a target within 10 feet. You must remain within 1000 feet of your ward to access its senses.
You place a ward, which is fixed to a target Object that can be moved and repositioned. You can hear and see through the ward as though you were standing at its location. Your wards last 3 hours. You may have at most 3 wards active at once.
The ward requires Concentration to monitor, though it will remain active until you deactivate it. It can be detected with a roll and destroyed through mundane means.
You may communicate through your ward, though doing so will reveal its presence.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see Polamedes copies and remove's his eye.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
The mutant has gained some control over their genetic instability, allowing them to trigger a mutation at will. When the need arises, their flesh warps and twists, and a new mutation manifests that is suited to whatever obstacle the mutant happens to be facing at the time.
Spend 30 minutes. You may only target yourself. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Battle Scar and can have exactly one of the following Effects:

Your alteration "heals" over the course of the next month, after which it is fully cured.
The detective can learn a lot by watching someone for a minute. Each subtle detail, every unexplained stain, reveals something about where the target has been. Ocassionally, they'll drop a business card, or explain how to contact them. The detective is listening.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend a minute. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target does not know you're watching them. At the end of your investigation, roll Charisma + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
All it takes is a flick of your hair and a bat of your eyelashes, and you’ve got their attention.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. A number of Sapient, Living targets within 50 feet who can perceive you through no greater than your Charisma rating are affected. Audiences or mobs with a singular focus count as one target. Roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6. All affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, the targets will keep their full attention focused on you for Contested Outcome in Rounds. They will automatically fail any rolls related to noticing anything other than you.
If you pass from their perception and they are unable to pursue you, the Effect ends. If they can follow you, they must do so for 2 Rounds or the Effect will end. The Effect ends early if the target is Injured or violence occurs nearby.
This does not affect the target’s opinion of you or their mood, and they may take any Actions while affected (including attacking), as long as that action centers on you. Fascinated targets cannot Concentrate.
The user places this slip of paper from the mystic against their head, speaks the inscribed phrase, and envisions a time they wished they were alone. the paper bursts into a shockwave that pushes a nearby being away. The repulsion field can be maintained for several seconds by meditating on the nature of solitude.
Spend an Action and use up this paper with mysterious calligraphy. Select a Animate target up to 100 feet away.
Targets are pushed back until they are 100 feet away.
This Effect cannot move anything heavier than 500 pounds.
Affected targets may use a Reaction and roll Dexterity or Brawn + Athletics to hold on to a nearby anchor, if available. A complete success increases their effective weight by whatever they hold onto.
Pushing a target straight upward requires you to be directly beneath them and halves the range. GM’s may ask for a Dexterity + Athletics roll when repositioning yourself around a target to get a desired angle. They may React to reposition or anchor themselves as normal.
You may maintain Concentration after the initial activation of this Effect to continue the push on the target. Lasts up to one minute.
The Future Soldier learned to create foam grenades in their own time period, and they still can, kinda. They look like glowing orange capsules with a rugged rubberized grip. When thrown, they burst into a splash of expanding neon orange foam. The foam hardens in seconds, severely hampering the movement of anyone unlucky enough to have been splashed. Those affected may use their hands or weapons to hack away at the foam and free themselves.
Occasionally, the fuses on these bootleg grenades fails, and they go off immediately.
Spend an Action and use up this small metallic grenade with pin (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Make a thrown Attack at a Location within normal Attack range. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you are hit as it activates immediately at your present location. The target may roll to dodge or Defend, as normal for thrown Attacks. The Attack itself does not deal any Damage beyond the Effect.
If you succeed, all affected targets will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They can still move their arms and use Effects, but are reduced to ¼ of their movement speed.
The binding around a target must be destroyed in order for them to break free. Breaking the binding requires a total amount of Damage equal to twice the original Contested Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly.
