First Annual Contract Con Retrospective

Earlier this month, we held the first annual Contract Con, and it was a smashing success!

Contract Con (ConCon), is an annual event for fans, friends, and curious newcomers alike to congregate to play, discuss, and learn The Contract RPG.

In this, our inaugural year, we had merch, gaming events, previews of the upcoming book, and more. Fans brought some of their own merch to trade and sell such as dice, patches, and tarot decks featuring art of well-known characters. People dressed up as their characters and told epic stories of the Contracts of yore.

Over 40 people attended this year’s con in Denver. Five Players were brand new to The Contract, and four people had only played the game’s predecessor “House Games” before the event. The vast majority of the remaining attendees are active players in the Maelstrom Playgroup on The Contract’s official Discord Server. Only four Players live in Colorado, the rest flew and drove in from across the USA and Canada!

For many of us, it was a truly incredible weekend, filled with countless unforgettable moments both, in- and out-of-game. As The Contract’s primary developer, I am amazed and humbled by the outpouring of support and love for the game and its community. Thank you all so very much.

Here’s to many more years of Contracting!
