I was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan. A little over a year ago I moved to San Francisco, California. I bought a modest home with a little bit more space that need. I may need the extra room if the Osikawa clan gets any bigger ya' know? I moved here after I started doing the contracts. It seemed easier to be in the United States for travelling versus Japan, as it seemed most of the jobs were state side. It's a smallish house, as I don't need much space. It's just me and my mother so it didn't need to be grand. It's a four bedroom, which like I said earlier, is more than we need but it's nice to have the extra space if we need it. I spend most of my time at the garage so I'm not home much anyway. I have installed state of the art security so that I know my mother is safe. That includes cameras, motion detectors the whole nine yards. These are linked to TORI and my watch so I always know exactly what's happening there.
My money comes the old fashioned way, I work. My work is also where the majority of my expendable income goes too. I run a garage in the city so that's where the majority of my money is earned. With my talent for auto repair and customization I am very successful. I have a few employees that are skilled to fill in when I'm not there. My true passion and where I make some extra cash is in custom cars. My passion project is trying to create the ultimate custom car, which has culminated into TORI. She is a car with independent thought (AI) and can perform tasks bordering on the supernatural. It's not cheap and very time consuming, but the results are completely worth it!
My ambition is to build the ultimate car. What ultimate means I guess depends on the person I guess. I feel like I'm getting pretty close with TORI. I've been able to develop a car with an artificial intelligence. She has a personality, you can have conversations with her, it's like talking to person. She's durable and has capabilities that no other car has. There's always ways to improve her, but she's pretty damn good. I would die happy if I knew that my creations were able make a positive impact on the world. These cars are meant to improve our way of life. Cars that can make decisions to protect their passengers. Imagine a car that can drive you home when you've had to much to drink, or avoid hitting something you didn't see. I will not kill to achieve my goal as that would dishonor the intent of my ambition.
Before joining the contracts the event that had the greatest impact was the death of my brother. He died in street race in the Trans Am that would become TORI. Back then, in Japan, the garage had ties to the Yakuza thanks to my father. When I took over the ties stayed and I blamed their influence on Sento's desire to race. I felt that they pressured him into races and mods that were to dangerous. When I moved to the states I cut my ties to the Yakuza and tried to start fresh. Those events made me realize that we didn't need those connections to achieve our dreams.
