Elrick Purslane's Questionnaire

Countryside in Netherlands thats rich in flora and fauna. Erick grew up there and has been managing the family's flower shop after reaching adulthood.

The home is a normal countryside home made of wood with circle windows in like with hobbit houses. Covered in grass, moss, and flowers. Surrounded by trees and plants alike. 

The first floor has the flower shop up front, kitchen at the back, and the living room. Also houses a basement floor for storage of seeds and flower bulbs especially for winter. Upper floor has the rooms, second living room, and a terrace to have some tea and watch the sunset during the afternoons. The backyard houses the garden not just for flowers but also vegetables.

I do not normally spend money outside the village. Usually, money is spent on fertilizer, food, clothing,  new seeds, and feed for the animals.

Seldom money will be used on home and coop maintenance. Also for emergencies when the weather destroys part of the garden or house.

There are times that we need to travel outside the village in order to explore and discover new plants and seeds that will be re planted in the gardens and sold at the shop. 

We also trade with travelling merchants that wander to the village for new items or materials that could help with our livelihood.

I aspire to be a druid. I heard that druids are able to commune and control nature to sprout roots and plants from the ground. Also that they are able to communicate with animals.

I also heard that they are able to transform into certain animals, although I am a little skeptical as I have only heard about this from travelling merchants.

They mentioned as well that druids are able to heal wounds. I have studied little about medicine and would like to have the convenience of healing minor wounds especially when gardening.

Killing though would be a stretch but if it is a requirement of being a druid then I might consider but I wouldnt consider dying as I wont be able to use it at all if that happens.

Growing up at the countryside, everyday is a peaceful and uneventful day. Wake up, wash up, eat breakfast, tend the garden, check the stocks, open the shop, afternoon teatime, close the shop, dinner, bedtime. Then repeat. Everyday is the same, everyday is a routine. Even though every day is uneventful, I am content.

That is until one day, the weather changed and drought was all over the village. The whole village all worked together to get through it. The ponds dried up and the plants wilted and died.

I wished that I was able to help more. If only we can commune with nature and help it directly, that would allow us to get through any weather.

I would say the three people I am closest to would be my parents and, I know they're not a person at all, my pet crow Cedar. My dad is named Erigeron Purslane and my mom is named Edelweiss Purslane. We've been together well since my birth lol. They have always supported me and we all work together at the flower shop we own. 

I met Cedar when I was young. While gardening, I saw him on the ground wounded with blood all around him. I took him in and patched him as much as I could. I truly believed he would not make it, with his broken wing and a wound on his chest. After a few weeks, he got better. Day after day, his health would improve and he would get louder and more cheerful. Since then, Cedar stayed with use and helped out in the garden, warding off any birds or small animals trying to eat the plants.

My childhood was pretty awesome, based on my standards lol, and peaceful. As preciously mentioned, my parents are Erigeron And Edelweiss Purslane. We are very close and we run the flower shop together. My dad is laid back while being physically strong. He can carry 5 sacks of seeds on his back and just laugh and chill all day. My mother is strict yet gentle. She taught me everything I need to know about planting the flowers. From preparing the soil, sowing the seeds, and maintaining how much water or moisture is needed to keep them happy and healthy.

I didnt go to any schools, unless you consider the elders' lectures every afternoon. Every children would gather by the community center and listen to the elders' words. Everyday is a new topic and new things to learn and apply. We all worked together to keep the community alive and thriving. 

Love is a very weird concept for me. Romantic love I mean. I dont think I have ever looked at a person and thought about spending the rest of my life with them. I guess I could say that I'm pretty content with what I have right now. I would say that I love my family, my pet Cedar and our village.

My love would definitely be plants. Growing up, people would think that I would detest it since that's all I see and learn everyday. But caring for them and seeing how beautiful they are on e they bloom is something I would never get tired of.

I do my best in every given situation. My best might not be the best for everybodys standard, but it is the my best during the given situation. It is my best based on what I think would be most fitting during that time. 

I always want to be of help to every one I meet. Being able to cover all the bases and fill in the gaps that they lack. Not bragging, but I think that is the best way for me to help. To be able to do things that people have a hard time doing and be there when they need me.

I do not want to be left out. I do not want to be a burden. And especially I would like to be enough.

It is a scary though to be inadequate and I always want to be useful to those around me. I think it is because I am not particularly talented and I do not have any particular set of skills that would stand out from the rest. Although I hope my set of skills and talents would be enough to be of used to someone and help in every way possible in all situations.

I really love my family, my pet crow Cedar, and most of all nature. All my life, nature has been around and I have been surrounded by it. We could always rely on nature to help, provide, and protect. That is why I decided to help back and take care of it. My methods may be uncommon and a little brutal at times but that is the reason why I accepted the contract. Well I initially accepted to help the family business, but right now I think what I really want is to be with nature and help it thrive in the future. 

I know it is not really my possession but I consider the gifts I am receiving as from nature and those are my prized possessions right now. Of course including my family and pet lol. I will be using these gifts in achieving my goal and to be of help with others.

I would not say it is a problem. Although it is a challenge right now. I am talking about contracts lol. So far, the contracts that i have taken a part of are not connected to each other and are all random contracts.

I guess that is how it works since I believe the contracts are not coming from just one peron. I hope it is from a person. But who am I to judge? I am beginning to change as well. Every gift I receive from the contracts are helping me improve in a way that is not normal. Maybe become supernatural in the future.

What I am trying to say is that I am trying to grow in a way that would assist me and other contractors in each contract and to also achieve my goals. I am not sure what specifically my goals are but I am sure I need to get stronger in one way or another.

I wake up every morning with the help of my pet Cedar. He would always be pecking my forehead to wake me up lol. I think I need to have my forehead checked though. I think I feel like a dent on it. 

I eat breakfast with the family, wash up, and wear my overalls for the day. i start to help with the family business. Though I am not specifically good at gardening, I know right why am I a gardener lol, I help out by lifting most of the stuff like the fertilizer and bag of seeds. Father is no longer suited for heavy lifting so its good that I can be of help.

Starting with receiving contracts though, I started to check my luggage- my backpack, grab out bag, equipment and all. It feels kinda nice to call my trowel and rake equipment lol. I might need to add the gardening sickle as well in the future just in case.

Hmmmm this would be a tough one. I mean it really depends on where I am going or attending. If it is like a formal party, I would go and check the tailor to have a nice suit made for me. As long as it is within my budget lol. I would like ot have it made in a green suit with a vest and a purple bow tie. It might be a little funny and normal looking but I would be most comfortable in it.

Going to a contract would also be different. Because for me to look my best, I would wear what I normally wear: overalls, leather boots, shirt, leather jacket, gardening gloves, and my trusty straw hat haha. I believe this would be the best for any adventures. I will be very comfortable and my clothes are enough for any weather, for now. I am thinking of improving my clothes in the future. I mean Ive been in fights with crazy people and supernaturals. I dont think my leather jacket would help me much lol.

I have forgotten! With everything that has been going on, I did not even remember my birthday lol. Wait what about my parents? Okay Im still good with theirs haha.

Now for my birthday, we had this somewhat of a tradition that we always celebrate my birthday at home. My mom would bake my favorite carrot cake, made of course with our own carrots from our garden, decorated with our flowers and mostly lavender as they are mom's favorite. And dad would carve me a different animal every year. Last year he gave me a gorilla and the year before that was a giraffe. I might need a display cabinet next lol.
