Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense or React more than once to a given Action.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 5 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 5). You also take a point of Mind Damage and suffer a Battle Scar as normal.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Outcome 4+ puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.
Failed or Botched attempts may be re-attempted at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

Outcome 1+ will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar if it caused one.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed or Botched attempts may be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

If you witness someone die, you must make a self control roll not to leave 2 coins with the body within 10 minutes of their death. If you succeed in the self control, you still take a mind damage per body for neglecting your duties.

Mark of Hades Mark of Hades - You must dig a hole & sacrifice a black furred animal to Hades during any Contract you are on. If the Contract is completed before you do so, you count as "Failing" even if you would have otherwise succeeded.

The Oath of Vengeful Destruction You may let no slight go avenged. You must return any slight in kind, rolling Mind (Diff: 7) to not do so. If you already have the Vengeful liability, then you may no longer spend Mind to suppress the desire, & the punishment must exceed the perceived slight dramatically. You may not buy off the Vengeful liability if you receive this Oath (you can, but will suffer the enhanced version anyway)

Jack of All Trades You are naturally capable of most things, even without any training. When making a roll which utilizes a Primary Ability that you don’t possess, you do not suffer the standard +1 Difficulty penalty, and you receive +1 dice to the roll.

Jaded Your emotions are deliberate and unshakable. You get +3 dice to resist any attempt to sway your emotions, and even if you are affected, you may Exert your Mind to cancel the effect. This includes the Fascinate and Emotion Control Effects.

Cat-Eyes Your eyes catch the light in the dark like a cat or dog's, granting low-light vision. You suffer no penalty to rolls in low-light situations. You cannot see in pitch blackness.

Born Runner You are built specifically for running. +5 feet of free Movement, +2 dice to all-out sprint rolls.

Lanky You are particularly tall and have long limbs. Your "touch" range is ten feet instead of the standard five.
