I gain plus 2 in all main stats, have perfect soul control, and gifts remain, however, any abilities added by the tomb that are not gifts, disappear completely. The effect is maintained only when I am completely conscious. I need to eat sentient souls consistently for it to be maintained. It can be maintained permanently under said conditions
The tomb turned me into a stronger being, but at what cost…
Exert your Mind and spend an Action.
You transform into Demon, red, forked tail, wings, etc/ greatest fear (after soul control is unlocked) for 3 minutes. You have access to all of your Powers while you are Demon, red, forked tail, wings, etc/ greatest fear (after soul control is unlocked), and you can use your equipment. Your Battle Scars, Injuries, and physical Liabilities are carried over between forms. Reverting from your Alternate Form cannot cause your existing Injuries to kill you. Instead, you remain Incapacitated.
While transformed, your Attributes are the same. Your Stress is reduced by 2.
Your body is adapted to Flight. You receive +3 dice on non-attack rolls related to Flight.
Neil observes his target, letting Miasma occupy his eyes while he uses it to sense necromantic energy, alerting him to traces of death.
Exert your Mind and spend one minute. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. You must actively converse with the individual in question for one minute in order to gather any information. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6.
You learn all the following information about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is flecks of black appearing and drifting about in your eyes. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
David walks between the tombstones, and as he does, the air gets darker, heavier. He walks in a realm of sand and bone as the sights of the modern world fade away, only graves and the souls of the dead wandering the sands. Following a voice only he can hear (‘find me’), David seeks out one particular tomb among the sprawling sands. When he finds it, he enters inside, and depending on how the voice he can hear reacts, appears either above or below the tomb, either unharmed or buried alive.
To outside observers, this effect appears as a sand crusted bony limb reaching out of the grave or tomb to pull David within it in a whirling rush of sand. At the other targeted grave (or other targeted point if not using Spirit Paths), if all goes well, Vance appears rising from the grave, covered in a light dusting of sand and bone dust.
As David walks a Realm of the Dead, their voices cry out to him. “Find us.” “Find us.” “Gorgonsire, find us”. On the whisper of the wind he can almost hear a Medusa’s dying words, locked in time and sand and wreathed in bone as its head topples from its shoulders.
“Find me”
And yet for now, the echoed voice goes unanswered.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Location within your line of sight. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you Buried Alive under chosen travel spot or Grave/Tomb.
You are transported directly to the chosen Location. Anyone who is touching you as you Travel will be brought along with you. You must wait an hour before activating this effect again.
If you traverse any Grave/Tomb for one minute, you may activate this Effect and travel to the edge of any other Grave/Tomb that you’re aware of, regardless of range.
When Preston dies, if he was wearing an amulet, his body magically disappears, leaving only his clothes. If anyone ever holds the amulet and says "Preston" 3 times in a row, he returns. After returning, Preston prefers wearing lighter colors and being more serious and objective-oriented.
Typically, Preston wears a large amulet inscribed with "Say Preston 3 times to unlock this amulet's power."
You gain the following benefits at all times. You must actively and obviously be using an amulet to gain the benefits of this Effect.
If you would take an Injury that would kill you, you don’t die. Instead, you survive in an Incapacitated state, though you appear dead to any means of detecting life. Your body leaves behind a token. You remain incapacitated until the following ritual is performed with the token: Hold the amulet and say "Preston Preston Preston".
If, while you are unconscious, your wound level rises above your rating in Body + twice your Intellect, or if you take an Injury with Severity greater than twice your rating in Intellect, you die. After you return, the Injury that would have killed you, as well as any Injuries sustained while Incapacitated, are healed. Battle scars obtained during this time remain.
The detective's aim and muscle memory allow him to grab, reload and aim the weapons he's familiar with at great speeds.
Over a decade of practicing withing the French Foreign Legion will teach you how to use just about any modern firearm. However, the investigator has a knack for slower firing weapons, preferring to take aim for each shot, make a precise calculation for each bullet, rather than shooting in bursts or using full auto. Years of practice in the countryside with bolt action rifles, pistols and double-barrelled shotguns can help build up uncanny levels of hand-eye coordination.
You gain the following benefits as long as engaged in combat with French manufactured firearms.
+2 dice to all French manufactured firearms rolls.
You also gain the following effects:
Laxmi begins to glow a bright orange, and as if she were a bundle of dynamite, an explosion destroys the area around her! Of course, there's also the chance that her fuse just fizzles out...
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour. The area within 20 feet of you immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Roll Intellect + Brawl at Difficulty 6. Targets inside the radius may attempt an appropriate Reaction at GM’s discretion. Finding a physical barrier to use as cover will cut total damage taken in half (applies after Reaction roll but before Armor).
If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 20 feet of you with Damage equal to your Outcome + 2. Armor is fully effective against this damage. If you botched the activation roll, you will also take full damage from the blast, otherwise it will not hurt you.
After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.
Through years of practice, the mobster is able to shatter someone's kneecap without much effort.

All alterations you make must damage the target's knees.

The influencer is welcome at any event or social gathering, but they're easy to recognize, even when they'd rather not be.

The detective squints, drawing on years of police experience to find any hidden drugs, weapons, or other illegal objects, no matter how well-hidden.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action.
You automatically detect all illegal materials within 50 feet of you for the next hour. You have a clear sense of both the distance and direction towards any detected items. You do not learn any details about the detected items.
The magician reaches into their hat and focuses. Inside, light wells and flows like a viscous liquid. Then, they withdraws the item of their choosing.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. You must actively and obviously use a top hat to activate this Effect.
Choose an Object which could fit inside a regular backpack (up to 27 liters). It must be Non-Alien and generic. You cannot create explosives. You may create firearms.
Roll Perception + Occult to fabricate your chosen Object. The Difficulty is assigned by the GM and depends on the specificity of your chosen Object. The created item lasts 2 hours.
By slowing the hands of one of their watches, the time-traveler may interrupt and slow a target's movement through time. The target appears to be moving in slow motion for the duration.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. You must actively and obviously use a watch or clock to activate this Effect. Roll Intellect + Science at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, the target will suffer a dice penalty equal to the Outcome for the next 2 Rounds. Dice pools may be reduced all the way down to 0 by this penalty. This breaks Concentration.
You may activate this Effect as a Reaction to contest any Action a valid target is taking, reducing their Outcome by your own. Your command has no impact beyond disrupting their Action.
