Patients that smell the food starts feeling their mind being cleared and their heart relaxing. It smells different to everyone, it smells the most relaxing, it can be tea, to a childhood food, to even soft candle if that's what you like. Upon eating it, the taste is a bit bland but also oddly tasty and it will cause you to reminisce about your most heart warming memory as well as your trauma, sometimes causing you to cry. This is a full course all day meal that he serves to you.
Bu Fang, truly a good cook, will sometime get request for very simple but childhood like food. Soup, ratatouille, simple noodle and the likes. As his skills improve, He find ways to allow his food to do the speaking for him. Sometimes, to help a person, a bowl of food that smells nostalgic and good is all that's needed. Exert your Mind to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Over the course of one day, your patient must communicate with you and reveal at least one of their Traumas to you, including the details of those Traumas and the circumstances of how they were acquired. After the full treatment time has elapsed, roll Charisma + Crafts at Difficulty 6.
If your treatment is successful, you may remove one of the patient's revealed Traumas without incurring any Experience cost.
Heart, 'the Temple Unceasing', the Aspect which protects and preserves. In this case, only preserves, and not completely. But even this is more than enough for the occultists to be giddy, as they stay up all day and all night, conducting their research into what lies beneath the surface.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You may go five times longer than a normal human without food, water, sleep, and air.
Huey is a BIG man, and simple mind tricks don't work on him as well as the rest. Although you may try, you're likely to be met with a mean look and a spit as if you'd done nothing but give him a petty insult.
Being behind a bar is more than just making fancy drinks or cleaning glassware, it's about maintaining an atmosphere well into the night. When individuals get too rowdy after one too many drinks, Integrity is needed to cut off people and get them out of the bar, in spite of drunken insults or, worse, fights. It takes a lot of willpower to do this regularly, but with a bit of help...
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You get +2 dice to any Mind resistance rolls you make.
Minerva's body, made of will and thought, always comes back together as to how she sees herself.
And, of course, it's difficult to kill an idea with bullets.
Similar to her form itself, pure substances of reality disrupt her Dreamland self.
Or at least, they did. Minerva has learned many things, one of which how to prevent such substances from being anathema to her.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
Any Injury you receive heals quickly, reducing its Severity by one level every 6 hours. Any Injuries you receive while this Effect is active do not deteriorate over time. However, any Battle Scars caused by such an Injury will remain unless it is Properly Stabilized as normal.
As long as at least half your body remains intact, you cannot die and remain at Incapacitated, regardless of how many Injuries you take. It is clear to observers that you are still alive.
Once an Injury has been reduced in Severity by two levels, it no longer benefits from this effect and instead heals as normal.
In one swift motion, your body seemingly melts away.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate.
You transform into Transparent slime-like substance for the next hour. You may end the effect early and return to your normal form at will. Your structure must remain relatively contiguous. It is not necessarily obvious that your transformed state is an unusual phenomena or that it is acting with singular purpose.
While in this form, you can squeeze through any gap that is not water-tight.
Damage from standard attacks is halved, but damage from AOE effects is increased by 1.
You cannot communicate, use equipment, or use Gifts while transformed. Your equipment does not transform with you beyond basic body coverings. You cannot carry any items while transformed.
You may turn this Effect on and off at will during its duration.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see Your whole body starting to melt.
After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.
His face and hands begin to pour blood and that same red leaks from all open wounds. Eyes to wide and bulge, blood vessels popping and eyes going red. Muscles bulge and tighten, and a growl thrums in the throat like vibrating tar.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action to activate. This Effect cannot be used unless you have drawn blood or been attacked. Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour.
You transform into a raging berserker for 3 minutes. You have access to all of your Powers while you are a raging berserker, and you can use your equipment. Your Battle Scars, Injuries, and physical Liabilities are carried over between forms. While transformed, your Brawn is increased by 1 and your Dexterity is increased by 1.
Your body is adapted to running. You receive +3 dice on non-attack rolls related to running.
You do not suffer any Penalty while in your Alternate Form.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see your face and eyes steam with bloody mist, and all wounds on your body begin to pour blood from every orifice and wound.
While transformed, you automatically fail any Mind roll to resist an impulse and suffer -3 dice on all other Mind rolls.
Come one, come all! Stand in amazement and behold as the Fire Eater consumes a flame as if it were cotton candy! Gasp with fright as they breathe a plume of fire a great distance! And yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is quite dangerous.
Exert your Mind and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: perform a fire-breathing trick. Select a target within 20 feet which has both fuel and oxygen available (if you are starting a new fire). Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you take a Severity-4 Injury as the fire burns your throat. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.
You may start or extinguish a fire as large as a fire in a residential fireplace at your target. You may create or extinguish fires the size of a lighter or candle flame without Exerting your Mind. Your fires require fuel and oxygen in order to continue burning.
Lighting a target on fire deals 3 Damage each Round on your turn, starting in the Round after the one in which they caught fire. This Damage is reduced by Armor, but the target’s Armor rating will be depleted by any Damage dealt, destroying the Armor once it reaches 0.
You may extinguish flames as a Reaction. This does not extend to explosives.
The detective pulls out their magnifying glass and investigates the area, learning details about any nearby structures and picking up details on what sorts of beings have passed through and when.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet You must actively and obviously use a magnifying glass to activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
The mobster knows a guy they can call for a hired goon, who arrives about a minute later. The goons are dumb as bricks, but tough nonetheless, perfect for sending a message when you need to keep your hands clean.
Exert your Mind and spend one minute. You must actively and obviously use a cell phone to activate this Effect.
Summon a single goon at your location. They will last until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. You may have at most 1 minion active at a time.
You may only use this Effect once per day.
By focusing and whispering a prayer under their breath, the priest may invoke their god to protect those who have good works left to do.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is a living human. Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour. Roll Charisma + Occult at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you create a barrier around your target, which absorbs the next Outcome + 2 Damage. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.
You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is you whispering a prayer under your breath. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
The survivalist spends a moment setting up a makeshift booby trap. The tripwires and pressure plates are so expertly hidden, they can only be noticed by those who have fallen victim to them before.
The victim is hit with a tiny curare dart. Pain wracks their body as a potent neurotoxin spreads through their veins.
Exert your Mind and spend 30 seconds to trap a region of any shape that contains your current location and fits entirely within 45 feet. This trap lasts one day or until triggered or disarmed. You must use up a dart in order to activate this Effect. Roll Intellect + Survival Difficulty 6.
The trap looks like a tripwire, a pressure plate, or a hidden switch. Only those who have seen this trap before can identify it as a trap. Anyone who is aware of the trap may intuitively avoid, trigger, or destroy it.
Any Living target that enters the chosen region will trigger the trap. The target may contest by rolling Body, Difficulty 6.
If the contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4. The target's material Armor is completely ignored.
The target suffers a -3 dice penalty for the next hour or until the Injury is healed. This dice penalty does not stack multiple times on the same target.
Instead of dealing Damage all at once, the Injury caused by this Power starts at Severity 1 and worsens at the rate of one level per Round until it reaches the Severity it would have otherwise been.
