Minerva sucks in a breath and grips her pendant, squeezing it hard enough to hurt. She stares into her own reflection, and wills it to change. Her own form is begins to change in accordance with her desires. She breathes hard during this; the process is obviously deeply unpleasant, more so the bigger changes she makes.
She's realized that her clothes are merely an extension of herself - and as such, she can mutate them just as much.
Minerva's will begins to manifest further. More than just influencing people, more than just influencing herself, her will begins to spill over onto the world itself.
She started with small changes the first night, exploring the spark that had formed in her. The next night, she had fur. She could feel her bones grind, her jaw cracking as it turned into a maw, her flesh stretch as a tail burst out. She collapsed, crying. But they were tears of happiness, for in this first moment, all was right in the world. She slept like that, the first time she did it. It was restful sleep. She sleeps like that whenever she can now.
///
Meta: Minerva's mutation is more than just bone deep, and a large part of her transformation is instinctive and subconscious. When she gives herself fur, she's also instinctively messing with her own neurochemistry. She experiences a form of mild and constant euphoria while transformed.
She needs a mirror because she's exerting her will on changing herself, and at the moment, she needs to look at what she's doing.
"Man cannot remake himself without suffering, for he is both marble and sculptor."
///
History: As Minerva's concept comes together, I think 'everything is a cantrip / is effortless for her' is a big part of it. At the point of this edit, the power hasn't been used on a contract or a significant part of a move.
After Minerva's inability to use her powers while she was transformed lead to one of her fellow contractors dying, she focused, practicing. Practicing, practicing. She learned to use them when she's not her... but the pain she worked though is still there, always in the back of her mind.
Seasoned:
Minerva's powers intensified. Building on top of the latent power she has over other people, it's blossomed into something entirely more. People accept her if she believes she should be accepted. Her changes are deeper, touching her soul. But most importantly, they last. They last as long as she needs. She goes to sleep and awakes.. proper.
Something's happened, though. She doesn't have full control over it, and when she tries to change her form, it's almost like holding onto water. She needs to struggle as hard as she can just to keep from falling apart. It's hard work, and she has to exert her mind. At times, she wishes it was as easy as before.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. You must actively and obviously use a silver fox pendant to activate this Effect. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect.
You become disguised in a manner of your choosing. The disguise lasts until you either activate a new disguise, or choose to end the effect.
The new appearance may have a different sex, age, and race to your own, and you may alter height by up to a foot and your weight by 50%. Your disguise cannot directly mimic an existing person. You may change the appearance of your outfit. You may add inhuman features to your disguise. Your disguise can alter your smell, DNA, and other aspects that are not perceivable via human senses. This does not conceal you against investigative Effects. A disguise cannot affect your Attributes or other stats.
You can "pass" in any culture or group without arousing suspicion as long as you look normal for that group and can communicate with those inside the group.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see The moment Minerva 'unlatches' her form, it pulses like a degaussed TV. Her clothes and flesh both smear some, uncountable wounds on her her leaking. They don't seem to hurt, but she's obviously struggling to stay in one piece. In the wounds, the tears to another place entirely, one can sense all the things that shouldn't be said. Intrusive thoughts come to mind. But are they hers? Or yours?.
After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk (15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.
This Effect ends if you take an Injury or are stunned or incapacitated.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Painful Losses: Whenever a fellow contractor (who you are not directly acting against) is in danger, you must roll self-control or immedately attempt to assist them.
His face and hands begin to pour blood and that same red leaks from all open wounds. Eyes to wide and bulge, blood vessels popping and eyes going red. Muscles bulge and tighten, and a growl thrums in the throat like vibrating tar.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action to activate. This Effect cannot be used unless you have drawn blood or been attacked. Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour.
You transform into a raging berserker for 3 minutes. You have access to all of your Powers while you are a raging berserker, and you can use your equipment. Your Battle Scars, Injuries, and physical Liabilities are carried over between forms. While transformed, your Brawn is increased by 1 and your Dexterity is increased by 1.
Your body is adapted to running. You receive +3 dice on non-attack rolls related to running.
You do not suffer any Penalty while in your Alternate Form.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see your face and eyes steam with bloody mist, and all wounds on your body begin to pour blood from every orifice and wound.
While transformed, you automatically fail any Mind roll to resist an impulse and suffer -3 dice on all other Mind rolls.
Ena is a spectre of The Well- one of many that can be found wandering aimlessly among ruins on the way to Oblivion. She, as well as all the others that were left behind, can desire a variety of things, but most of them are quite abstract. "The desire to want". "The desire to feel". "The desire to experience eating". Even "The desire to feel pain". All sensations, and more, that they are robbed of deep within the Well. For they are pure beings that live in chaos and only once beheld by minds seeking sanity, could they achieve any semblance of form.
Ena is just like them, except she found a way to escape- only to find herself within another prison. Luci, feeling at least moderately shitty about that, found a way to give Ena form that she can project herself onto and experience sensation directly. In return, when it comes time that Luci needs her to help, she's to help.
To give her form, Luci sculpts a copy of herself with enough ink that would comprise a normal human's blood. Ena's natural form changes its appearance to better match her disposition.
Ena is very much an intelligent being, unlike most summons, but her mannerisms are just so toxic and volatile, that getting her to help out with complex calculations is like pulling teeth from a literal child. She, at the very least, provides interesting conversation even though she's pretty unlikable.
She is an average heighted human with pitch black hair in a wolf tail, deceptively soft features, dark brown pupils, black fingernails, and a shadow that's just a wee bit more vivid to especially perceptive individuals.
Exert your Mind and spend one minute. You must use up 5 Liters of Ink in order to activate this Effect. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.
Summon a single Ena at your location. They will last until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. You may have at most 1 minion active at a time.
After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.
You may only use this Effect once per day.
The consumer just feels themselves getting weaker before blacking out for a instant at the 15 minute mark. Opening their eyes, they will feel oddly exhausted as their body is covered in some odd dust.
Outside observers instead will find the consumer disintegrating into ashes creating a cloud of particles where after the dust sets, another person, looking exactly like that consumer is standing there in the dust.
Where as loopy transfer the mind with the usage of amnesiacs. The Divergent Strand instead works as like a anchor. Setting a anchor and using the body of the consumer as energy and fuel, to pull the future variant of the target back to the present. In order to make sure that the consumer doesn't undergo full mental retardation, dementia, insanity, or any of the likes (after a few test), A series of amnesiacs are combined with the divergent strand that erases memories past 15 minutes of taking the pill to ensure mental stability.
Sometimes, there's a chance the future variant will be using the pill in the future as well and will spit out the pill, allowing possible future reuse of said pill.
Use up this Blue and white pill (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7) and spend 1 minute. Roll 7 dice Difficulty 6, penalty does not apply.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see Disintegrates the body and pulls the future self healed back to the present.
After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.
The people observing will see an object distort into existence, like the bitch from harry potter.
Spend a Quick Action to activate.
You may withdraw an item from your stash, or add an item that is within arm’s reach to your stash. You may only stash targets which are in your possession, grappled, or otherwise controlled by you.
You may store firearms in your stash, each no larger than something which could fit inside a briefcase (15 liters), and you may store up to 15 of them at a time.
You may choose to equip any equipment you withdraw at no additional cost.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: large brand on pectoral region (soft spot).
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: you must roll self control to NOT jump in front of a speeding (potentially lethal) object that would potentially hit someone in direct line of fire.
When focusing, Tam can respond instinctively to incoming attacks, using her abilities to dampen the force. And to riposte, really - throwing a spike of force back at her attacker.
Focusing that hard is hard on her, though. Stressful.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. Roll Intellect + Melee at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you create a barrier around yourself, which absorbs the next Outcome + 4 Damage. Any Damage absorbed by the barrier is reflected back to the attacker, up to a maximum of the Barrier Strength Parameter’s bonus. Their Armor applies in full. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.
You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is twitching fingers. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
The Vampire may channel their inner beast and take the form of an animal. It is said they may transform into either a wolf or a bat. If used too often, the Vampire risks losing themselves to their beast forever.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.
You transform into a vampire bat or a wolf until you transform into something else or choose to return to your original form. See the Extended System text for stats.
While transformed, you cannot use any equipment (including Artifacts and Consumables), and you do not have access to any of your Powers. Any equipment you are wearing transforms with you.
Injuries and Wound Level are carried over between forms. However, transforming can never kill you; you merely remain Incapacitated until your Injuries are sufficiently healed.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: A disfigured face with bat-like ears.
The time-twister spins a dial on one of her watches, slowing time for everyone but her and one other person.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must actively and obviously use a watch or clock to activate this Effect.
Lasts 1 minute. Whenever you use your Movement, after all other calculations, the distance you may travel is doubled.
Outside of Combat, any non-Gift, non-movement Actions you attempt take drastically less time to complete, as long as your personal speed is a factor in the Action. Total time reduction is determined by the GM and capped at 90% (executing the Action takes no less than 1/10th the normal time).
While using this Effect, you may carry one other being without affecting your Encumbrance, so long as you maintain contact with them for the duration and they consent or are grappled.
The Necromancer stands over a corpse and makes a series of grandiose lifting gestures. The corpse rises from the ground as though suspended by invisible strings, barks a pained groan, and lands on its feet, now a full-fledged member of the living dead.
Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend an Action. You must use up a corpse in order to activate this Effect.
Summon a single zombie at your location. They will last until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. You may have at most 1 minion active at a time.
The Witch wiggles her fingers at her broomstick, and it leaps from the ground with a whoosh of wind. She may then hop on and fly around. It’s so fun, she often finds herself cackling uncontrollably.
Flight is brief but quick, and she must return to the ground in one minute.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must actively and obviously use a broom to activate this Effect. This Effect remains active for two hours.
As long as you are conscious, you are immune to falling Damage. Additionally, you may glide as you fall, traveling 35 feet horizontally for every 10 feet you fall. While gliding, you fall at a minimum speed of 10 feet per Round.
You may ascend into the air and fly using your mind. Your Free Movement is Mind x5 feet/Round, including vertically. You cannot Dash. When sprinting, roll Mind and add your rating in Mind plus 1 to the outcome, multiply by 5 to find your sprint speed. Your encumbrance limit is 10 lbs per point of Mind.
You are subject to the following effects while gliding or flying:
The Future Soldier's PSG is capable of briefly supercharging its effectiveness with a jolt of Omega Cell energy. While active, the future soldier glows with an extremely bright golden light.
While the shield is supercharged, the Future Soldier cannot move or see the outside world, but they are completely isolated from anything that occurs outside the shield.
Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action or Reaction.
You phase out of reality for up to 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot perceive or affect the outside world or take any Actions. You cannot move. Nothing can interact with you in any way.
When you activate this Effect, you may limit its duration to a period of your choosing. If you are able, you may also end it as a Free Action on your initiative.
You leave a golden glow shaped like yourself at your location.
